Ross Fisher Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 *Your entry has earned 7 XP* Well, I felt no need to let brass know that I was drawing pay without actively fulfilling a function. So I took my shuttle off to visit some old contacts out along the Perlimian Trade Route. Unfortunately, something must've gone wrong with the hyperdrive, because it gave out when I was barely halfway there. So, suddenly I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, with no guarantee whether a beacon would bring rescue or raiders. I had a hysterical Twi'lek yelling in my ear about how she didn't want to get enslaved again, and I was rapidly losing any kind of calm that I'd earned on Zeltros. At this point I should stress; I am not a gear-head. Never have been. Not my forte. I can talk to save my life, but my technical skills are severely lacking. So when I have to do my own repairs, if they happen to work as planned, and I don't die a horrible death in the cold vacuum of space; I got lucky. Well, I managed to seal off the cockpit door, and isolate life support to just that area. Had all non-essential systems re-route to sublight engines. And it damn-well worked! I guess you could say I got lucky. Managed to limp all the way to Gizer - you know; Gizerian Ale? Ran out of fuel as we were breaking atmo. Had to glide into a crash-land. Now, I don't know if you've ever taken a good look at an Imperial shuttle as it lands, but you really do need those wings folded away, and the repulsorlifts firing on all cylinders. If you're not careful, you'll clip the ground before you know it, and slam face-first into the last planet you'll ever touch. But for that, you need power. Like I said, I got lucky. Missed the spaceport and crashed into a forest. Tore the shuttle wings off before I knew what was happening. But I guess luck is relative, because we came to rest on a cliff. And promptly fell over it. Well, I didn't die that day, as I'm sure you've guessed. Managed to jump clear; Lu'vel clinging to me. But, honestly, it didn't feel any safer. There was no way to get up that cliff; a raging torrent below churning up shattered remnants of Imperial transport. I was all out of options. And then I heard her voice: A woman in armour. She threw down a cable - hoisted us both out of there. The Twi'lek first, then me. On Kashyyyk they'd call that a life-debt. Me? I reckon I just got lucky that day. Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Really nice build with some good landscaping, interesting to see how Fnab's story is transitioning from the Triumvirate to Clan Eldar! Quote

It was only after I agreed to start this Faction that I realised I had to come up with a believable reason why a lazy upper-class coward would join a warrior culture. Hopefully the full story should be reasonably believable. Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 One of your best builds yet! The edge between the horizontal and the vertical build could have been interwoven a bit more (e.g. make every other piece stick out one stud). Also - story is superb! I actually get the feeling that Fnab is in danger... Great work... Quote

Had real trouble aligning these so that they would work nicely. Must try harder next time. 45 minutes ago, Darth Bjorn said: Also - story is superb! Tariq j Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 The first two shots look really good - very cinematic and makes us feel like we’re in the MOC itself. I agree the landscaping looks good, especially the rock face. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted June 19, 2020 Author Posted June 19, 2020 @Tariq j Thanks. I've been trying to think a bit harder about my MOCs. Improve the quality somewhat. Glad it's paying off! Quote
