medib Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I was trying to see how much of a cutter from a 6277 Imperial Trading Post I could put together with the current pallett of parts of Lego Factory... here is how far I got: cutter back on Lego Factory I might try to make a "compatible" cutter using 100% available parts from Lego Factory, minus the mast head and the cloth sail. Governor Mister Phes Posted May 21, 2008 Governor Posted May 21, 2008 How come you only got this far? What difficulties have you encountered which prevent you from progressing further? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 25, 2008 Governor Posted May 25, 2008 Yes so far, but unfortunately it's not very far at all. It would be great if there were all the necessary pieces to design awesome ships on LEGO Digital Designer! Quote
medib Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 I finally decided to go to retrieve my mail from my po box from the states. (i live in Canada, btw) I had ordered 2 copies of the cutter back (around $7.50 US each). I think my surprise was seeing a large cardboard box for each of the very small models. picture to show example: Along with the two copies of the cutter back, I put in a bricklink order to purchase 5 white bow pieces, 5 black bow pieces, and 5 white bow plates for the front of the cutters. As well, I decided I needed a few minifigs to crew at least one of the "new" cutters. white bow pieces and some new lego friends: black bow pieces and another photo of my new friends: cutter back "box and boxart": cutter back sealed bag of pieces: a cutter by itself with the bow pieces added: two cutters side by side, one manned by a band of motley crew, the other by a lone soldier: Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 19, 2008 Governor Posted June 19, 2008 Them oversized pictures need shrinking... It's taking all day to download them... Quote
BlueBard Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Nice little ships! But, it's possible to order Pirate MiniFigs to TLC? Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 i believe the mini figs came from bricklink along with the front of the ships... very nice ships indeed i note you have posted your full name and mailing address, something that may not be wise Ben... maybe something to consider if your going to post some smaller pics... great work and its good to see some computer planning coming to fruition in real life, great planning! regards Cpt. medib Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 First, I'm very sorry I didn't post the thumbnails of the pics and let the users decide what pics to see in large format.... (blushes) Second. I don't mind publishing my p.o. box address. I only go there once or twice a month...so the likelihood of endangering my safety is remote. What am I going to get bombarded with junkmail.... ooohh... I'm scared. Ben, who also wishes that Lego had pirate minifigs in its pallet for Lego Factory. Quote
medib Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 sorry for replying to my own post..... Anyways, I changed the design slightly to allow blue and white combo. There most likely be other combinations of cutterbacks, when I finally get around to it. I haven't decided the next color scheme. I want to have 5 different color-combo cutters, along with an "original" cutter and an emperor's ship. Without ado: I had to do some substitions, but all in all, it isn't too bad. I will probably buy this one in the next two months, along with the $65.00 lego island that I also designed. The island and 5 cutters make my wife think I'm really off the wall. I think she is just hoping for the Racers Grand Prix set, and in the back of her mind, she really wants the new Death Star Playset. Ben M. Quote
