Nice!  Do all those pieces exist?

Indeed really nice, I don't think those horns and the front piece exist in Orange.

It looks like a lovely little digital model, even if some of it can't be built in those colours. The greebling for the engine and chassis look excellent, I might have to steal them at some point!

Yes, the front piece is only in black, plus the original grey and original light grey. I think, were I to build it, I would utilize stickers on the side of that part.

The good news is, the whole thing is exactly 100 pieces, so it's not a big financial stretch.

I am considering doing a slightly more elaborate diesel tomorrow.

I was bored.

I wonder what happens, when you're not? This is a true "miracle" engine!

So few peaces, so full of beauty.

Thanks for sharing!

Haha yeah.  Btw this shape reminds me of those small trains in Thomas the Tank Engine - all the narrow gauge red ones operated by the Thin Controller. I’ve read the books to my much younger brother in the past enough times to know quite a lot about Thomas the Tank Engine.

I actually based it off a Cletrac HG-42:

Figured converting one to a locomotive wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility for a small mining operation or little port.

As for the model, I made a few mine carts and a crew coach.

Ah that makes sense, especially after your comment I saw on that one posted on the front page.  Btw, despite their versatility, I would actually suggest not using magnets here - they look disproportionately large, and would make the wagons ridiculous expensive for their size.  I suggest instead you use the ball joints, similar to the narrow gauge train in the 4204 Mine. Part 15456 and Part 63082.

I actually hadn't noticed how huge the magnets look until @Vilhelm22 pointed it out, but now that's all I'm able to see!  :enough:  The engine is adorable, as is the little coach.  And using the gold crystals in the ore cars is a very nice touch.

The ball joints would look far better than the magnets, but prototype mining locos & cars typically use link & pin couplers,

link & pin rail car coupler

or even chain dropped over a couple of hooks or pins, as is shown here:  http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/3-link_couplings.htm

Lego does both chain and hooks, and you might have better luck rigging up something with those than the link & pin.

Please cultivate being bored more often!

Ivan
