Having obtained an extra Medium motor installed it into the GBC Train module I am building.
Had quite a struggle gettting the inflexible EV3 cables from the motors to the EV3 block and ensuring they did not foul on any moving parts.

Module uses two medium motors and a Touch Sensor which starts the module.
Motor 1 drives the module / motor 2 operates the trip to exit the train unit with a full ball hopper.

Does anyone know the connector designation and are more flexible & longer compatible cables available ?

On Lego on line shop,  EV3 cables listed out of stock.

Managed to build a simple program to run the module which starts every time train unit arrives.

There is a possibility to make your own cables from a more flexible 6-core cable. You will need connectors (a cheep source is e.g. here), a 6-core cable from an electronic shop and special crimping pliers. The latter needs to be slightly modified, see e.g. here. If you plan to use more cables with various lengths, this may be a good solution. Or contact other interested people in you region and make together a small home manufacture.

Thanks for the info, I will try the local computer shops first to see if they have ready made or can make custom ones made.

Just be careful. The connectors are not the normal telephone ones even though they look so. The connectors used by Lego are unique (from many reasons) and the only known source to purchase them is a Chinese shop. That is why also the crimping tool must be modified.
