Wily Manc Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Hello, my name is Wily Manc and I'm a brickaholic. I'm from Manchester, England, and I've been collecting Lego since 1999 (when they brought in Star Wars Lego). I still have some of my original Lego pieces from when I was a kid too. I'm mostly interested in Star Wars Lego (I have about 300 minifigs), but I'm also partial to the odd franchise, (Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Spiderman, Batman), and I quite like the new castle stuff too. Fortunately I have a very sympathetic other half who lets me indulge in my hobby! Quote

Shadows Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Everyone in the audience says, "Hello Wily!" Welcome to the one place where brickaholics can come together and be of one mind. No one is going to try to cure you here, oh no, the disease is quite a pleasure, one we wouldn't dare part with, even when we're running out of space... My story is much like yours... the 1999 escape from the dark ages thanks to Star Wars, the varying themes (though I saw no mention of Pirates in there... ), having your old collection, etc. So, glad you joined, please have a look around and see that you're not alone, we're all part of this wonderful world of LEGO! Governor Mister Phes Posted May 18, 2008 Governor Posted May 18, 2008 My Dark Age ended in 2002... Just thought I'd mention that... Edited to add: Oh, and welcome to Eurobricks, lad! Quote
LegoFranks Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Welcome! My own Dark Age ended in 2001 when I picked up a couple of Lego Star Wars sets. I have a very patient wife who lets me indulge too, although she does get fed up with it overtaking everything. Alas, I have no sets from when I was young (I had most of the Classic Space sets...), as my mother carted it all off to the local hospital while I was at boarding school... Imagine my horror when coming home one weekend to find it had all gone for nary a penny... M. Quote
legotrainfan Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Welcome to Anonymous Brickaholics; a community where we try to increase our addiction and are unwilling to get rid of it. Quote
Asuka Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Hello and welcome to the pretty anonymous side of the brick. Quote

Wily Manc Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 Thanks for the welcomes folks, it's good to be somewhere Lego will never run out of shelf space. I hope to see you all in the forums. LegoFranks: all your classic space sets?? I would've been straight down the hospital to take it back!! imperialshadows: I foolishly sold all my pirate Lego (imperial soldiers included) on eBay when I was desperate for money. Silly me! Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Welcome aboard I hope you enjoy your time here. I look forward to seeing some pictures of your collection. Quote
