When TLG have blurred the lines with apps and AR for in-house themes like Next Knights and Hidden Side, it hasn’t really been a success. They seem obsessed with it. Back to this new theme, has the ice cream mermaid minifig or set been leaked yet? Agree, and when they've tried to go for something that's more tech-focused where the bricks take the back seat, it hasn't really worked either (Dimensions, Life of George, etc). Nexo Knights is the only one where I suppose you could make a case that it wasn't entirely the concept of the theme, but more that it was too similar in terms of target audience to Ninjago (which was the same reason why Legends of Chima seemed to not do well), but either way, the tech thing, other than Mario, has absolutely not worked. And like it had been said earlier, Mario probably has worked because (1) it's Mario, Nintendo isn't going to let that flop, and (2) it actually combines tech with play, it's not "Build something then use your phone" or "Build something that doesn't really do anything but you can use it in a video game." cosmic Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 All the figures are so appealing! Definitely picking these beat boxes up for the figures alone. Its funny I was actually thinking how good a pink genie would have been, and Lego releases this. The blue unicorn is so fun to look at, the ice cream head guy is exciting as well. All these figures are must haves, I love the bunny and llama. Quote

Brick Clicker Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I suspect if Lego dosen't reveal them this week they could be found in stores with some of the other March sets being found early... Quote
Robert8 Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) The CMFs look great (but they are not actually branded as CMFs) I love the genie, the shark, the ghost, ice cream, bunny, cowboy and wolf! And they come in the little boxes we saw tested before! So, this is what they were testing them for Edited February 7, 2021 by Robert8 Quote

Terrasher Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I wonder if the cardboard packaging will have some sort of hint as to what is inside each box. I remember a few years ago (I don't know if it's still the same thing now) the blind bags had tiny bumps on the bottom backside of the bag that could allegedly identify the minifigure within. If these new packages are used for the CMF as well and are 100% blind, then I guess Bricklink will be the way to go... Quote
Pulp Detective Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Is this the beginning of the end for blind bag cmf? Quote
monsterverse13 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) It says “Bandmates” so I wonder if the main sets have lead band members and these guys just fill in the band. There seems to be an animal themed band, candy band, monster band, and so on... Totally possible there are solo acts too. Definitely want these. They look fun. JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) Man, these looked pretty good. Aside from the really awesome-looking ones that's leaked earlier, I like that werewolf! However, I'm just curious on one thing, while I'm not sure whether this is known yet but it never hurts to ask - aside from this and the beatboxes, will this theme have regular sets? If memory serves, I do recall there were quite a number of set list leaked. Edited February 7, 2021 by JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) Quote
sunhuntin Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Looks like the N-Pop girl has found a new sport. As for the alien, I finally figured out who he reminds me of... Pleakly from Lilo and Stitch. Quote

Shame there are no robots in this (1st?) blind bag series. Quote
sunhuntin Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Oh, that's a good point! I think it was the smile coupled with the one big eye, very Pleakly-ish to me. Quote
Borex Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 They are so outthere. Maybe too much for me. But i do want the werewolf, the ghost and the sharkman. Quote
Fenghuang0296 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Oh these are gorgeous, I want so many of them! Quote
danth Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hot damn, a tiger and a wolf too? It really is Fabuland in Space? Also a keytar and sax? Okay so it's 80's Fabuland in Space. Could not be more perfect. But there's more! A genie and a cowboy? So it's Pee Wee's Playhouse + Space Fabuland. Quote
ChrisW Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Brilliant looking figures. Just don’t like the idea of them being blind boxed. Quote
Pchan1983 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 No more bag feelings... The minifigures do look interesting. I guess we all need to enhance our hearing so we can identify figures by just shaking the box XD Quote
Robert8 Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 What do you think is a werewolf? Considering they are anthropomorphic animals, I thought it was just a wolf Quote

Anonknee Muss Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Remember the first style of packaging LEGO used for CMF? The type they used for like 8 years before switching in February 2019 with the TLM2 Series? Well they used to have bumper codes so you could identify them, I wonder if these boxes could have something similar? I think these Bandmates are the only reason CMF have been reduced in number this year. Quote

Lucarex Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Where’s the ice cream mermaid? The tail part leaked and she appeared in the trailer, but missing off the series leaflet with 12 figs. Quote
