Tyree'De Pearl dealers

Extracts from Don Fernando de la Izquierda's log :

April 620; the 24th :

"We were sailing to our next place of exploration in El Oleonda under good Carnite escort when the captain ordered to haul down the main sail.

Our ship slowed down to reached a little sloop I didn't noticed first thinking it was an ordinary fishermen ship.

Arriving close to the ship It appeared to my eyes that the vessel was a new design, at least unknown by me.

It had a lone mast with a lateen style sail; or at least a Fore and Aft stylish Unique triangular sail.

The locals were new to me too !

It was the first time I uncountered coloured people in the Eastern seas ! It was fascinating !

They were two of them : They are calling themselves the Tyree'De (the pronounciation is not totally this but it something close...)

There were a Woman at the rudder and a Man furbishing his blade.

Their skin was brownish, with some chocolate accents and they were sporting strange face paintings.

I made a step behind when the man came closer with his wide knife at hand. I wasn't sure of his intentions...

I just smile understanding my error, when I saw he opened a clam with the blade to show us a magnificent pearl inside the shell.

Suddenly they all yelled ! Carnites like Tyree'De !

The Pearl dealer took a step behind clearly in distress...

A shark jumped out after him trying to catch him or at least the shell; who knows...

...but the Female Tyree'De swiftly grabbed her Harpoon and shot down the dangerous fish by tranpiercing it !

That was sport !

Finally our Carnite escorters, after applauding her skills, exchanged some goods with the Tyree'De and our ship continued its route.

The Pearls were probably the initial reason for the stop.

The Carnite war always needs fundings..."

Don Fernando de la Izquierda.

Here Is my 3rd entry for the contest ! Hope you'll like it !

Thank you ! I tryed to render the story more dynamic with many close ups around that shark attack. I'm happy you like it.

Nice boat! The color accents give an islander feel, as well as the Moana sail. Pearls will be a valuable commodity!

Thank you ! Of course the colour accents are totally islander inspired... Nice you've noticed it !

Thanks again.

I am really enjoying your entries Faladrin and this latest one is no exception. Beautiful take on a native outrigger. The yellow and red decorations are particularly eye catching. Great minifigs as well!
