NotToScale Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 The most numerous of these is the Hunslett Austerity 0-6-0: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunslet_Austerity_0-6-0ST#/media/File%3ARepulse_at_Haverthwaite_railway_station_(6549).jpg However there were numerous variations on the basic theme as each user painted them and specified them to there own company needs. From my point of view, the flexibility that gives helped make this a good choice for the first steam-engine within the limits I had set myself. More details here: As you would imagine, working on putting pf / pup inside rather takes us away from scale. However, I have worked to minimise this where possible in the MoC while leaving just enough space for either system to fit. We therefore have Lego original power components and an interior with light up firebox. The lanterns fit lights but I don’t have appropriate Lego ones at the moment to put in them and am thinking of going third party: On the other hand, my headlamp code is right at least! Finally, I put together a matching break van for the classic brake van ride: The next steps for this one would be custom wheels (BigBen Mediums would look better and solve the speed ‘problem’) and custom rods but both have to wait for quite some time due to the obvious financial implications. Other comments and suggestions welcome! By the way, I would also recommend a couple of other interpretations: @IssacSmith / SmithMovies Steam Rides ideas set is a rather lovely 0-4-0 interpretation within “6-wide” dimensions and served as an inspiration for this. If what you’re looking for is a scale MoC in Lego, please head over to Flickr and give all the appropriate praise to the (frankly amazing) 7 wide model from @BritishBricks: Quote
Pdaitabird Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Nice little shunter! I like the brake van too. Quote
Seamen Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 It is wonderful! I also really love Lego trains. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 A great looking MOC that shows what can be done with a relatively small number of bricks... especially if it fits all of the PF components Quote
