A Sanyo TV from the early 1980s!

It was my first TV that we grew up watching it (up to the early 2000s when it was replaced with a slightly larger one of the same brand).
Takes me back to the glory days of watching Genesis on Betamax or waking up to Agro's Cartoon Connection, Cheez TV and Saturday Disney!
Oh the Golden Age of Australian TV!

And those cool ads too! (Some that have been unearthed from their home-recorded videotapes throughout the years and others will remain in obscurity for the foreseeable future!)

Tuned to Channel 7!

Here's the real one (the exact same model we had!)

Added a blue 'Safety Screen'. ;-)

Side Walls being built!

How I managed to build the back of the control panel and speaker! ;-)

I miss those old knobs and flippy bits on things, made me feel like I was operating fancy equipment from the future. Now we're here and they're all gone, gah!

If I recreated my first TV I'd have to spend the rest of my life being asked "Why is your oven in the living room?" haha

Wow I swear we had the same TV. Complete with peeling fake wood sticker.

I loved how solid and clicky the knobs where. Good thing, cause it had no remote. Great build.

Pretty well done! I love the attention to details. Are you planning to build it or will you just leave it to the digital version!

I've started building the control panel.
I haven't been spending much with my debit card since the beginning of lockdown so I have a lot of money in my bank account.
It's high time I setup a PayPal account or get a credit card.
