Seasider Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Glad you kept this in @Jim as I’m hoping it turns out great and @sirslayer offers instructions or at least the LDD once the competition is finished Quote
Jim Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 It's an aweseme build. No doubt about it Having an LDD would be great. Quote
sirslayer Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 (edited) @Jim Thank you , Jim and you guys will watch my progress to ensure this will be all original design from the original. It was just good timing since i just started the "Porsche" project.. and never done any mechanics on the Porsche till now!!! The last time I used LDD , There was no fender panels like in the 42093 Corvette set!! and Studio is just way better since the latest update and i'll have a custom .io file for Jim only for the contest.. If im allowed to sell the instruction during he contest or I need to give it out for free which IDK?? , i just need to read the rules again!! ? Thank you to all for the nice comments and i''ll have some more examples of the rear tail setup and @Thirdwigg.. Thank you for the link.. Wow, even the other projects were good, like the helicopter which I also just started to build!! but that would be on a future post!! Edited April 1, 2020 by sirslayer Quote

I need help.. and no, not for a doctor .. on which drive train should I build... both are 15 wide with tire on and the choice is between a narrow wheel with full differential support or the one you can use all wide tires but with a simple differential???? Can you please leave a comment, I would like to hear your thoughts ! Lego Technic Which one? by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr . Built a prototype and the model is only able can be done in the color white...with limited colors to have when you use the small fender element.. 1gor Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 (edited) I would go for real differential in any case; white 959 is the most elegant IMHO, I'll see your version and perhaps make mine one day. There are also 5 spoke hubcaps from some Ferrari creator set, but I can not remember if they fit technic contest Edited April 15, 2020 by I_Igor Quote
sirslayer Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 (edited) I guess @I_Igor speaks for the rest also .. and yes and thank you . Ill start on the drive train .. Mounted the fake engine and wow... I designed this model using Studio 2.0 and I didn't start building this moc till a few days ago.. I've done a complete 3d model but I went ahead and started to build it and make changes to the studio file.. I"m impressed that the uni-body design is working!! Now Lets see if my mechanics is sound and I went ahead and ordered the required White colored elements and hopefully it should be here by Saturday.. Ill post some of the drive train asap!!! It fits!!!! the fake engine is just the right size but I do need to modified a little bit!!! Lego Technic Greatest by victormendoza_jr, on Flickr Now the rear axle... coming soon!! sirslayer Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 Porsche 959 engine, transmission and rear suspension update. The Porsche 959 uses a 6 speed manual transmission and the first gear is actually Low 4wd gear and 2 to 6 is 4wd high gear. On my model , I implemented a low and high 4wd gear (2 speed) installed behind fake engine. From the transmission the power goes to a new style center differential marking this another first for Lego Technic brick kind. I'm just racking up many first designs and builds for this MOC!!! from the center diff, power is distributed between the front and rear simple diffs... Im using simple diffs, due to wanting to have bigger tires on my MOC!! please post any comments. jorgeopesi Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 IMO you are going too far and a car without differentials it works badly when you play with it, I do not know how people are going to vote but you would have my 10 if it was a trial truck, being a car all that engineering that doesn´t translate into playability doesn´t convince me but it is just my thought. Quote
sirslayer Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 @jorgeopesi... I understand on how you feel... I even posted help regarding the subject.. First of all, the scale is way off with a standard differential.. If i was building a super car at 1/8 the scale then your argument is valid but at this small scale, the standard diff is way to big.. like clown big feet bad!! I can fit the standard diff and still keep the transmission but now we are like the 42093 Corvette with small tires.. .. lose the suspension.. then i can use the bigger tires... if you look at the tech, and you haven't seen the body.. (it is gorgeous) ..the tech will blow you away.. if you look at the body.. its a plus.. what ???no diff!!!!.... .. i would think having a piston in a fake motor is important or otherwise you're teaching people that a rotor/Wankel motors is the mainstream?? I've built RC at this scale with diffs and not.. not much difference since now your working with a small scale.. can you please tell me how the new diff is better then the old diff when friction is higher on the new diff.. so even using a new diff at this scale is worse since it didn't react quick enough compared to the old diff... I'm just sharing my experience. can you share yours?? thank you and votes are not important if you were building this for the fans and lovers of technic.. my reward was a fan based mod that was inspired from my moc !!! that was shared to me and it looked great.. and I didn't even finished mine.. :) ..
