nwbricks Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Hey, me again! The 60197 engine redesign seemed to go down well so thought I'd have a crack over the weekend at reimagining my favourite childhood set, the 4564 freight rail runner. It was a bit of a challenge given the original was 9v with zero internals, but pretty pleased with how it's looking so far. Here's the original (I cant build them both together as I only have one set of the big 1x5x4 doors!) And here's me looking thrilled about having my photo taken on my 6th birthday... ... and here is my updated, Powered-Up version. It's still very much a work in progress but I'm pretty pleased with it so far. The chassis is brick built, and works out around 7x32(ish) studs. I wanted to use the original yellow prism bricks for the headlights but the new PF2 lights shine blue, and blue+yellow=green, with no way to filter the light. The lights on the model go through a trans-orange brick and then a trans-yellow on on top to make them yellow. I've been using the Brick Controller 2 app on an old iphone to let me control the thing with a PS4 controller which is very satisfying! Cheers :) Edited March 16, 2020 by electropie Quote
Driver Brandon Grumman Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I suck at doing MOC vehicles. That locomotive looks amazing. Quote
CSW652 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Curious why this one and the other one are in the town forum instead of the train, but a nice looking loco all the same. Guessing it is a bit taller than the original 4564. Edited March 16, 2020 by CSW652 Quote
