Aurore Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) It all began with that Spider Man heart torso. As soon as I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for any spider lover. So I made an arachnologist. And since I had much fun building my first custom minifig series in the Historical forum, I decided to build an other serie, dedicated to scientists. To keep my arachnologist company.Note : I hesitated between posting it in this forum or in the Minifig Customization one. I chose this one because this is sort of a MOC within the Collectable Minifigures Series theme, using only non-customised LEGO parts. Sorry if I made the wrong choice! Robert8 Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Haha I know of a certain someone who'd love this series with all those animals Great job as usual, my fav are the Oceanographer and the Future Astronomer Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 An entire custom Series made up of "[insert here]-ologists" archetypes? I LOVE IT!!! It'd be awesome to see any of these more particular ideas come to future Series of Lego's, and I haven't heard of so many of these professions before either! My favorite designs have to be the Primatologist, the Herpetologist (excellent reuse of Poe's Nathan Drake torso BTW), and the Mineralogist... Quote
Aurore Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 @Robert8 I may have an idea of whom that someone could be... Thank you very much for your comment, I'm really glad you like them. @Digger of Bricks Thank you so much for your enthusiastic comment! I also learned quite a few things about earth science while creating them...And now I know how to spell ichthyologist! Quote
williejm Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 These are freaking adorable. Really like the skin tone diversity too. Well done! :) Quote
Karalora Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 These are so cute! I love them all! Is that venom in the Herpetologist's flask? Quote
DarrellBricker Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Very well done! I would definitely "catch 'em all"! :) Quote
The Reader Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 What a great collection! I like the mineralogist and the paleontologist most. Quote
zoth33 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Well done. Very interesting idea. Nice use of existing parts in this series. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 A well-composed figbarf is a beautiful thing, and boy oh boy is this a wonderful figbarf! All of your choices are fantastic and such a novel idea to create a series of minifigs on this theme. I love it! Traditionally this would've gone in the minifig customisation forum but I think it's just fine here. And now it's frontpaged as well! Quote

Digger of Bricks Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 By the way @Aurore, somewhat similar to this CMS, would you ever consider doing a FigBarf Series with a Pulp Adventurer theme, kinda in the same vein as your Jungle Princess vignette MOC? Quote
