They look good, I have done it for lettering, but not as waves. Those curves work well for letters of different sizes.

The waves might look more continuous if you put a 1x1 1/4 round tile next to the 1x2 tile (alternatively - same thing - add the 1x2 tile in the upper pic).

Yes, it separates the waves a bit. The other fun thing to do is colour them in by putting tiles underneath, with different colours for the sky and the sea.

This could be ideal for use as an Active Stage Prop!
Just add a motorized crank mechanism to make the rear part move back and forth!
