MaxBrix Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Downhill skiing robot uses 2 servos so he can move his skis side to side and bend his waist pushing his poles into the ground. He can actually ski down a hill with control. I found that third-person skiing is quite hard though! Quote
Rudivdk Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 This thing looks so awkward and realistic at the same time... And when it flies down that snow slope outside.... wow Very well thought-out and minimalistic engineering. As a purist, I would not use 3rd party RC components myself, but thiswould not be possible with the bulky heavy LEGO PF components. Cool creation! Quote
BusterHaus Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Nice work, I like seeing these types of unusual projects. Do you have any pictures of how the motors are connected with Lego parts? Quote
Jurss Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Cool! and You even have snow ... and I was waiting, that that dog will grab that skier :) Quote
agrof Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Refreshening creation, I just love it! It is proven again, that Technic is great medium for robotics and mechanical experiments. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 As a skier myself (or at least used to be) I can vouch for its authenticity! This is so great. I actually really love its starts. When it decides to go downhill and points its skis in that direction. It is so accurate. And the act of balancing, it actually mimics beginning skiers really well. Quote
MangaNOID Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I have to agree that this thing looks very realistic with those arm movements. It’s very good and a bit spooky in a way knowing that LEGO can look so human. Quote

He would only grab ski bot if I asked him to. Quote

I got 4 of them for less than $25 This video has more info and links. Quote
