Today I am not showing Johnny Thunder and his friends but a new faction which appeared in the Egyptian desert: Here we see two Egyptian officials whose duty is to protect the ancient historic sites. But actually we don't know yet whether they are the good guys or the badies ...

Today I present a new faction in the Adventurers' jungle subtheme. As factions we have Johnny and his gang, Senor Palomar and Max Villano and - last but not least - Achu. Now here is a fourth faction, an unknown tribe of grim warriors with their chief holding a black obsidian axe and a golden goblet. When I first saw these dark orange legs with printed leaves (from the Monkie Kid set 80024) I knew that they would be a good base to build modern islanders. I have about a dozen of them now. But the problem is that Lego has only three or four dark orange heads with faces. So these three guys are the only one with faces yet. The others have only plain heads. So I am still looking for more dark orange heads with faces.

Have you ever asked yourself where Doc Lightning gets the electricity from to operate the satelite dish in set 5987 (Dino research compound)?

Well, here is the answer: I have built a small power plant on a 10x20 brick as a modular extension for set 5987. The source of this power station is a very special red crystal.

..and here I thought it was Kazim and his friends from Last Crusade in new outfits.

"for over five hundred years man has been searching for the cup of Christ, and in all that time, the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword has kept it safe"

Now @The Reader has got me wondering if Johnny is searching for the Holy Grail!

Good points! I wasn't aware of either idea when I created these minifigs. I just wanted to make good use of the torsos and the heads. I call them by myself the "two Ottoman officials" or the "Turkish twins".

Today I may present Agatha Appelboom and her blue touring car. When I first saw this cockpit piece - which first appeared in the legendary Scorpion Tracker (set 5918) - in 2019/2020 in the new colour dark azure in two Hidden Side set and the Haunted House (set 10273) I immediately knew I had to build a new car in the old Adventureres' style. And here we go! In the meantime this cockpit piece came out in lime, too (set 76180).

Have you ever wondered where they hide themselves and their treasures? Well, that's the place: The secret jungle hideout of Senor Palomar and Max Villano. Built as always on my favourite 10x20 brick which gives you the impression of a river bank. The upper part of the tree house is inspired by set 60071, while the lower part is a typical tree from LEGO classic castle sets.

Just a small MOC today: Mike uses a small steam powered boat to navigate on the jungle rivers and to transport supplies for Johnny and the gang.

As mentioned several times earlier I'm a big fan of these large 10x20 or 12x24 bricks. Especially as they give the impression of a river bank. I always asked myself why set 5976 (River Expedition) came with a 16x24 baseplate and this strange little pier which looks weird imho. So I built this set on a green 12x24 brick and changed the pier somewhat. The only thing which had to be removed was the skeleton statue outside the "temple". I added more details inside the "temple" to give Achu some proper equipment.

N.B.: This black chauldron is from an original Fabuland set when I was a kid. So it has "Fabuland" written on its bottom.

I too have a few of the old large bricks and use them for similar purposes. The rock face you built is great. Funny, and not a skull. Makes me think of a laughing gorilla. Perfect.

Thank you very much. But that's not my MOC. It's set 5976. Only the 12x24 brick instead of the baseplate is my "invention".

I always thought that the car in set 5987 (Dino research compound) is of a very poor design especially as it lacks the Adventurers' cockpit piece (part 30149). So I redesigned it and gave it a more robust and classic style.

This is a MOC to expand the jungle subtheme (not the dino island subtheme as I am not very keen on living dinosaurs). Johnny and his friends have erected a paleontological research site to dig for fossils and to examine them in situ. Once again I have used as base one of these 12x24 bricks to give the impression of a river bank.

That's a pretty nice little MOC.  I like the location of the safe and how it's used as a support for the structure.

Thank you very much. The safe is for keeping precious fossils safe and secure ...
