That is a crazy looking prototype, but a good rendition of it in brick. I like the streamlined stack in the last of the inspiration photos, of 2926.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the stack could lift out of the shrouding, similar to with ATSF and the stack extensions. Later in the engines' lives, when they were relegated to branchline freight work, I'm pretty sure CP maintenance staff pulled that part of the streamlining off and ditched the lifter because it was one less headache.

*Edit* It's not that difficult to do:

Here's the loco actually in freight service... like seeing a Hudson pull boxcars:

What is the piece you used as a smokestack? Looks like the piece i’ve been looking for to finish my Hogwarts Express chimney ... do you have the part number or BL description?

It looks to be this piece but OP can confirm

@SteamSewnEmpire I like this render.  You have captured it well.

I would suggest leaving the rear most window panes off to give the illusion the window is open.  If you have the frame you can stick them on both sides of that would work too.

If that's true, it will require a paint-job as this bucket doesn't come in Black.

Just as everyone else has said, a very good replication of an... unusual prototype. I think the wheel formation lends itself to being built in LEGO quite nicely, as you've proved!

Here's the million dollar question: would it be better to go one flanged and one flangeless driver (which will allow for closer spacing), or two flanged drivers? I modeled versions with both, but incorporating two flanged drivers widens her stance a bit much for my eyes.

The other nice thing about this loco is that it's only 1600 parts.

How sad to see such a regal locomotive demoted like that, but I guess a few more years of operation life is better than the alternatives

It might be this other bucket that only came in a collectable minifig set

But there is this part that is the same shape, a little smaller radius, and it is available in black

2929 still exists in large part because she was a survivor. Sadly, Steamtown ruined her.

She looked like this under U.S. "care" in the 1970s:

And this today:

Canada needs to demand her return before the elements destroy her entirely.

That's easy; just replicate the original precisely! All wheels flanged, with the front and rear trucks on double-pivots (see Emerald Night, and every two-axle LEGO truck ever) in order to make LEGO curves. This is possibly one of the few LEGO steam locos that doesn't need any mucking about with strange pivot systems or blind drivers, so why not take it!
