Hi. Like many AFOL I’ve been rediscovering my love of Lego with my children. I remember being so frustrated as a kid at not having enough pieces to bring the ideas in my imagination to life. I’m hoping I can provide a broader Lego experience for my kids (budget permitting). All the new specialist bricks can make it a bit overwhelming these days.

I’m hoping to find inspiration and advice in this forum to help take our Lego adventures from set-based to building more MOCs.

We went to Brickvention in Melbourne, Australia which was a great start and has helped me convince the kids we should re-sort our collection by part not set so that’s my next big challenge.

Welcome to Eurobricks, @k1tk4t!

Children are a wonderful gateway back into Lego aren't they.

I recommend picking up one of the Lego Classics brick  sets such as this from Amazon AU:

LEGO Classic Windows of Creativity 11004 Building Kit

They come in different sizes (the one above is a medium) and themes, but all will provide you with a good base of bricks in various colours.

Also, pleased to meet you mate.
