So apart from them being on jedijacpenguin's list (which is now saying that both the smaller rumoured August set and the D2C have the number 75978), is there any other evidence to support the existence of two more August sets? I've had a look back on this thread and I don't see anyone really confirm them before speculation begins as to what they may be. Can anyone remember if last years August sets were in the retailer catalogues?

Last year we got official pictures at the end of april and the later sets in may so I'm not expecting any leaks until april at least. Lego seems to have a less leaky ship these days.

Still, for some reason I’m not that excited about DA, but for a D2C, it surely is the only “big location” besides Hogwarts? I was thinking Hogsmeade but like GP, it’s not commercially appealing in its entirety.

I suppose you could make the argument the MoM has D2C size potential, but nowhere near the £300 mark.

Perhaps a large Hogwarts Express (like Emerald Night), Knight Bus (like the Routemaster) or Flying Ford Anglia (like the Fiat 500) would be possible, but only the train could be minifig scale.

Any of those would probably be $200 at most

Exactly. The Hogwarts Express could push £200 with it being a licenced theme and maybe including two coaches, the Knight Bus is a third higher than the Routemaster so perhaps £150 odd. The Ford Anglia just under a hundred.

Am I right in thinking the Aragog set is the only one retired so far?

Yes I believe so, in addition to the two FB sets, the advent calendar and the CMF. So that is another indication that the sets are selling really well

So how many sets are we expecting then? I’m a little confused as to what we are actually getting now.

As far as I know, the only confirmed sets are the five in June (75969 Astronomy Tower, 75979 Buildable Hedwig, 75968 Privet Drive, 75966 Room of Requirement and 75967 Forbidden Forest) and the September 75981 Advent Calendar.

There are two more sets rumoured for August (and last year's pattern would suggest this is true), but I don't see any solid information that these are confirmed. I have searched back through this thread and found nothing, but if anyone can point me to a post or Insta leak from a 'reputable' leaker then please do. EDIT: As @Guyon2002 says, @Falconfan1414 confirmed two sets for August over on Instagram - sets 75978 and 75980.

A D2C has also been rumoured, but again there is no solid evidence. jedijacpenguin's 2020 set list does have it on, but they have the set number (75978) as being the same one as one of the rumoured August sets so again there is a discrepancy.

A HP CMF series was also expected to be released later this year, but there is a rumour that it has been pushed back until next year, potentially due to the release of the new FB movie being pushed back. This series was meant to have 16 figures in suggesting it was just going to have 16 HP characters and leave out the 6 FB figures if it followed the same pattern as last time, but the potential push back could mean that Lego may now be incorporating FB character into the mix. This is 100% guesswork though and the news of the potential delay in the CMF series surprisingly does not seem to have got any further than this forum. So either it is not true or it is our best kept secret yet. Only time will tell.

There is also a new book Lego Harry Potter Magical Treasury: A Visual Guide to the Wizarding World releasing in September (UK) which will include an 'exclusive' Tom Riddle (COS version) minifigure.

I hope this helps. :classic:

The CMF coming later this year has 16 figs and we assumed when we assumed it was HP that it only had HP figs. If it is moved to next year because of FB it is almost guaranteed it have (probably 6) FB figs also. So the CMF coming later this year (whatever it may be) probably always had 16 figs and the HP/FB always had 22, but we got the number of figs info before we got news that the HP/FB had been moved

Regarding the potential D2C I assume the move will not affect that since it do not need a CMF to back it up unlike other smaller themes :shrug_oh_well: Anyway it is better to spread things out so we get a D2C on year and a CMF the next instead of both one year and noting the next :classic:

Unless you have any solid evidence otherwise, I wouldn't use the words 'almost guaranteed' because as much as I would like there to be FB figs as well if the series has been pushed back we just don't know. So as of yet, nothing about the CMF is guaranteed. And @Legoman123 asked what we are actually getting because there has been so much speculation about different things that unless you are on here all the time it can be hard to quickly separate fact from fiction/speculation. That was what I tried to do in my post - separate confirmed products from speculation.

If Harry Potter CMF isn't this year do we know that the CMF coming later this year is licensed or could it be Series 21?

The rumors say it’s going to be licensed. You can check it out on the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours thread.

Licensed CMFs are almost always accompanied by a D2C. If HP CMF series 2 has been delayed, does that mean the D2C will be held back?

No, this D2C can easily stand on it's own and would kinda accompany the new wave of sets. But we literally just discussed this

A new Diagon Alley D2C sounds interesting, especially at a much higher price point than the original. I don't have any specific hopes for what or who should be included, since I want to go in with a fresh view, but I do hope that the buildings we do get will be on baseplates with some Alley out in front so we can connect them together for one large display- essentially like modulars, but on a smaller scale.

Also, about the potential of an alternate license for the fall CMF... LEGO just revealed a new theme that could easily fill that spot...

(Edit: I was right about that last part.)

Yep I don't think we are getting a HP CMF this year...

This could work very well as an upscaled version of the GWP. Every building on a seperate baseplate (with a piece of the alley in front of every store) and the ability to connect them with technic pins. Would also be pretty cool if they actually used those alley parts for even more decorations like lanterns, stands, signs and maybe the golden statue in front of Gringotts.  Figures could be anything, I just hope they don't include the trio

Just a final confirmation of rumors we’d already heard. I was always a little surprised about the rumors of a Wizarding World series this year cropping up after FB3 was pushed back until next year, so I can hardly be surprised when it turns out the CMF likely will come out to coincide with the movie.

At any rate, with the rumors that we’re getting two $100 price point sets and a D2C this year there’s plenty of Harry Potter to use up our budgets on as it is.

I can't say I was surprised because the series would definitely sell without a FB movie out simultaneously, but it does make sense as to why it would have got pushed back.

That is true. Even if the D2C rumour is false, there's still plenty to get. We should be glad it saves our wallets really.

I see the lego Super Mario revealed today which is very exciting and it seems like according to some people that the new CMF is Nintendo Super Mario.

So not confirmed yet but no harry potter cfm this year then, Mario instead?

The CMF rumour came from misunderstanding the polybag part of the set rundown. The sources of information haven’t mentioned CMF, only the over keen.

There is no confirmed minifigure series. There are 4€ "blindbags", but they could be anything - studs like Lego DOTS, power-ups like Nexo Knights or something entirely different.

With HP series (reportedly) being moved up to 2021, it COULD take it's place (as a minfig series), but that's a big if.

stonewarsde is saying the 3.99 euro set which matches a cfm bag is 23 pieces. Doesn't sound like a cfm to me. Just a comment about the responses to my comment, I never said it was fact. This blog is about rumours and until we get facts that's all we have. So commenting on rumours is not stating facts, so no need for caps and bold text.
