I've never owned or used a Brick Separtor before nor have known anyone that does. Does anyone here own or has used a Brick Sperator before? How effective are they? Especially when it comes to prizing apart the really small plates?

I've got four of them and can't imagine anybody can live without them :-D

It's ideal for removing plate/plate connection of same size (esp. 1x2 or 2x2) and very useful when removing tiles from centers of plates. I think they should made them more technic ready, axles are a bit clumsy for removing friction pins.

I have several myself, though I never seem to be able to find them when I need one. :/

They're pretty handy.

I have modified one (so much for being a purist :$ ) to be a keychain.

That way I always have one at hand when someone is in need of one.

And before everyone jumps all over me for not finding any, while I have one as a keychain; I generally don't take my keys into the Legoroom.

I just got my first one from bricklink & I must say that it is quite useful for seperating certain pieces...

Great idea. I'll have to make one like that ;)

Got 5 or 6. So I guess I can spare one. If I can find one :|

But other than that - a great tool *wub*

i found lots of these for free in a toyshop a while ago. i took a few but i never really used them. i tried them out, but they only worked for small plates. i usually use other bricks to get plates seperated from other pieces. that works a lot better. Basically, to me, these brick separators are useless.

THESE ARE FABULOUS! I use it every single day! They can remove just about anything. Including plates, bricks, tiles, and complicated SNOT designs. However, like snefroe said, it is most useful for removing mostly smaller plates (no bigger than a 4x4 plate).

One of the greatest accesories ever made by Lego. I can't imagine not using it. It reduces the use of teeth, nails and sharp objects to a near zero and therefore allows your valuable bricks to remain as close to mint as possible.

If you don't have one - get it!
