ks6349 Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 If you were me, would you get the retired set Lego 4439 (Heavy Cargo Helicopter) for $80 (US dollars), (100% New and sealed) Do you think similar Helicopter (long, big and with two main motor blades) will be released again sooner in the year of 2020 or 2021?? Thanks for any advice. Quote
TeriXeri Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) I personally think 31096: Twin-Rotor Helicopter is a lot better in both design and value. I know it's not City or Police, but it has more interesting and varied parts, and a mechanism that makes both blades spin via a knob on the back, as well as a rope winch and some cargo space. Even 60173: Mountain Arrest has some more going on even while the helicopter is smaller. Both sets are about €50-€55 retail price but at least in my area are still on shelves and on discount to around €35. Edited October 30, 2019 by TeriXeri Quote
MAB Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Why don't you check the prices on a marketplace such as Bricklink to get an indication of value? A new and sealed 4439 can be had for about $50-60 from a number of sellers. So $80 seems high, but then you will also need to factor in postage. Ask for postage costs and you can decide whether $80 locally is higher than the global marketplace price including postage. If you are building it, it is overpriced compared to the parts it contains. But then many boxed older sets are. Only you can decide if it is worth $80 to you. Quote
