Thinking about it, I don't visit the frontpage as often as I used to:

- At times, it feels like there are way too many updates all at once, then at other times, nothing changes for several days.
--> imho, there should be some regularity to the posts, while not exceeding one post per day regularly. Ideally, there'd be one MOC highlight every day, and, as rare exceptions, maybe one other post about other interesting things, like a huge new set announcements, a new contest or maybe an in-depth review. MOC highlights could also be queued up to a point - sometimes, a lot of great builds are posted at the same time, while at other times there's a bit of a lull with not much going on.

- Selection of front-paged MOCs seems a bit biased at times. Some members will be frontpaged regularly, while others rarely or never get the honour, even if their creations and photography are on par with what's being front-paged.

- Purely digital creations should be marked as such

Hi Roger,

Thank you for providing that useful feedback!

I agree with this myself so I made an attempt to post a new MOC on the frontpage almost every day but after a while it got too demanding to maintain with all life's other responsibilities.

I trained a couple of assistants to help out with Pirate Forum MOCs but we really need assistants from each forum to ensure a nice balance of MOCs.

@Mister Phes

I really appreciate how you (and surely many others on the EB staff!) reach out to the community. Among many, many other things. The EB website provides a room of what I would like to call "true internet culture". There is freedom - with careful moderation. So many discussions here could have gone wild, but instead - they were directed to smooth waters, by moderators or other EB members. And in the end by some sort of force. I myself got a little excited (after a couple of beers that is) in one thread - and the replies were very, very helpful.

Now, with regard to the frontpage, what is its purpose? Showing the biggest and most exciting MOCs? Or is it the most inspiring MOCs? As far as I am concerned, a 20-bricks-and-plates MOC may potentially be more "inspiring" than a 1:1 scale super car - to some. For others, it will be the contrary. So in addition to selecting MOCs from forums, there should be a "category" type of organization: For me, 2 MOCs per day is absolutely OK - but not the 10 Million bricks type of thing with chromed special pieces - twice. One of this type and another of that. It does not have to be a super smart miniaturized all-special pieces MOC, just a (in so many diverse regards) "special" MOC.

And such an approach needs some sort of rules, schedules, and quick-but-educated votes of people in charge, I guess.

Just my 2 cents - and don't take them too seriously.

All the best
Thorsten

Great work on the front page! It's great to see new, interesting content from other forums that I don't visit often. However sometimes there seems to be either nothing on the frontpage for a while or suddenly a lot. I understand everyone has their priorities and therefore, Phes previously mentioned a solution which I agree that Eurobricks could benefit from having a few assistants for each forum to find content for the frontpage to make it more balanced. I would like to volunteer to help out from the Star Wars forum as I go on it everydaybut also to help out the community. I hope you find my feedback useful!

Btw I think this topic should be frontpaged so more people can see it

I think it can be just something fun or interesting to look at every now and then, coming from forums you generally don't visit.

I do think Star Wars is under-represented on the front page so if someone like @Reaper got involved it would be great. (Good luck trying to decide which AT-ST to feature though!)

We recently had a lovely Labdspeeder contest which was almost invisible on the site. Whereas the Technic Mission to Mars contest is featured on centre on the front page...

That's why I've created this survey, so we can determine what the community wants rather than randomly posting MOCs.

That's great! I could certainly provide training however my jurisdiction is limited to the Pirate Forum so I wouldn't want to step on the toes of the other forum staff.

@Stash2Sixx, do you have any thoughts on recruiting someone specifically to post Star Wars MOCs on the frontpage on a regular basis?

When I was posting daily MOCs on the frontpage I was mindful to represent each theme forums as much as possible, depending if new MOCs were available.

But at the same time, I'm not familiar enough with each forum to keep up with all the contests and events. Although, the people organizing the contests are responsible for their promotion.
