ks6349 Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 (edited) Regardless of any theme, what was the lowest price per piece you've ever got or found in the market and what was the set number? I don't mean the price from kinds of deals or sales that may last only a few hours or a lot of people fighting or queuing up for many hours to purchase one or two item , but kind of deals that should last at least a few days and the supply is not too tight. approx. USD $0.049 per piece is the lowest price I saw a set Edited July 19, 2019 by ks6349 Quote
ShaydDeGrai Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 I think the best buy I ever came across was at a toy store chain called KB Toys (long gone out of business now). They routinely sold recently retired and generally unpopular Lego sets at a steep discount (they also jacked up the price on new and popular sets so they'd offset a bargain on a Prince of Persia kit by ripping you off with the latest Star Wars release if you weren't paying attention). One day I noticed they had a dust covered stack of Master Yoda sculptures ( #7194) that someone must have just stumbled over in a back room somewhere. They tagged them for ten bucks a kit, which worked out to just under a penny a piece (USD) with loads of sand green and tan parts (that were kinda hard to come by in quantity in those days) I bought the whole stack, but if I hadn't, I think this would have met your criteria for being a "real" sale as they were tagged items (about a dozen or so) just sitting on a shelf (and from the layer of dust, they'd spent a _lot_ of time on a shelf somewhere before I found them), no special signage or "limited time only" sort of pricing - just a pathetic little whimper of "please take these off our hands so we'll have room for kits people actually want." I part'ed them out years ago which, in hindsight is a bit of a pity; I seem to recall someone on Amazon asking 6 or 7 hundred bucks for this same set not that long ago. Funny how things change with age. Quote
jus1973 Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) In a sale in our local supermarket, for 30CHF (=30.50 USD) i picked up the Nexo Knights Fortrex, with 1115 parts. this works out at 0.027 per part. They regularly have sales like this and I’ve picked up $30 duplo sets for 5CHF too. EDIT. Just remembered that I picked up the technic Bucket wheeled Excavator in the sale sale, for 80CHF. That works to be 0.020 per part. Edited July 20, 2019 by jus1973 Quote
koalayummies Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 2 cents per piece, but it is rare. The Chess Set on sale was the best deal (which was on sale for a while, plenty of time, there was a stack of them in the store) and a few other sets that were on sale around 3 cents per piece from the Shop @ Home site. MAB Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 In the UK we regularly used to get free poly bags with newspapers. So zero. Or if you want to include the newspaper cost, about half a penny, considering you could often get two lots per newspaper. For sets in sales, I've had many at a penny a part of so. Quote
Cylo Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 0.02 AUD per piece, scored a 7674 for 12 bucks once Quote
Masked Mini Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Costco (US) currently has a creative 1500pcs brick set for $39.99, that comes out to $0.027 ppcs. Probably the cheapest non-sale price I've ever seen. Quote

I don't think it's sold online (by Costco) but I could be wrong. Costco is a membership required warehouse store. You'd need to have a member buy it for you or pay the 55$ fee yourself to join. For what use it is to anyone, I saw the box (10717) at the Costco at Tehama Ridge in North Fort Worth, TX. Lego Store MSRP is 59.99 according to google. Edited July 28, 2019 by Masked Mini Quote
