you vocally attempting to get "on a wagon" that will end in a lynch is not pro–Starfleet, it's pro–Romulan.

I'm being lynched for being and doing the only thing anyone can do this early in a game of mafia when you need a lynch.

Because I find the existing reasons for the votes for Kyle lacking. Everyone keeps saying "why not Kyle", but doesn't give any reason why I should vote for Kyle. If you think I should vote for Kyle then why not vote for him yourself?

No there are not. There's Kyle, McCoy, and myself. And then there's one vote for Hinckley which I like the reasoning for but it's a small wagon which might not gain enough speed in time.

Look Memie, you're starting to contradict yourself. First you voted for McCoy, saying that there were no good reasons to vote for Kyle. Have you given any good reasons for voting for McCoy? Then you say Sulu had a good reason for voting for me: because I made a joke. How is that better reasoning than what CMP and I said about Kyle's behavior? Then, you answered for Kyle when he was being scrutinized and wasn't around to answer. This doesn't look like a Townie desperate to get a lynch so the Scum can't kill, this looks like Scum protecting Kyle. It's more than enough for a Day One lynch.

"I need a wagon! Any wagon! I must get on a wagon so the Scum can't kill! No, not Kyle's wagon!!!!!" :hmpf:

ANY WAGON BUT KYLE'S!!!!! :sing:

I mean, I as a red shirt would like to live for once, so yeah any wagon but mine.

As for CMP's comments, I felt as if his (Umbra-Manis) explanation was just "ok". A way to cover up what he said that could be a slip-up.

Let's take a look again at how the day progressed:

Rules of this here method say we lynch someone or else, so I'm guessing something bad goes, primarily to benefit those romulan imitators. Eliminating the person with the most votes would defeat the majority's purpose and empower the scum.

I think I'm reading this wrong, but this comes across to me as a bit confusing (maybe a typo?). How would it empower the scum? I feel like this comment is a way to seem helpful but somewhat confusing.

22 hours ago, Trekkie99 said:

I was watering my plants.

How so?

McCoy says "most votes...would...empower the scum." Spock and Kyle come in and are like *huh* Wha??? Would that empower us? How? I'm paraphrasing.

22 hours ago, Umbra-Manis said:

My apologies lieutenant. I was saying that if we don't get to the prescribed number for a lynch (5 votes right now), but the person with the most votes is still eliminated (Let's say he had 4) as you asked, then it shifts the tables in favor of the scum, who can work together. 2 votes at the last minute could easily bump someone into first place, without getting them to a majority. So essentially I'm saying that such a policy would be an easier threshold for the scum to push someone over

McCoy comes back with a reasonable explanation. I admit, I thought the same thing. 2 votes alone could end up being the most votes on any one person.

22 hours ago, Trekkie99 said:

Didn't end well for the last guy that did that.

"We turned him into a Newt!"

22 hours ago, KotZ said:

He didn't get better:cry_sad:.

Spock and Kyle both reply to his explanation with no further questions. Kyle even makes a self-deprecating joke, seeming to me to accept the explanation given by McCoy.

17 hours ago, Chromeknight said:

Well, it would work once. But then we’d all know who those two romulans were. They’d be in the naked time.

So, not really an advantage to them then, is it?

And if it’s not an advantage, why bring it up or suggest that it is? Feels like you’re just sowing confusion.

Vote: McCoy (Umbra-Manis)

But then whoever Chromeknight is playing comes in and votes for McCoy. Emphatically. McCoy is "sowing confusion."

Bing! Bang! Look who quickly follows suit:

26 hours left and we need five collective votes! :damn:

Unvote: Ensign Chekov: (jimmynick)

Vote: Dr. McCoy (Umbra-Manis)

Sorry doctor, but many lives are at stake on this ship, as well as the entire Federation if the Romulans take possession of this vessel.

No reason, just jumping on a wagon. He questioned McCoy about the "confusing" statement and seemed satisfied but didn't press him any further.

His explanation is weird, as I mentioned earlier. Just enough to be helpful, but also to generate confusion.

Kyle hit the green button on the copy machine and sent off his reply again but this time with a vote.

9 hours ago, CMP said:

Okay, this is pretty much word-for-word what you said earlier, but are you going to respond the explanation behind his logic, or did you skip that part to post more fluff?

Whoever the hell CMP is playing points this out.

9 hours ago, Trekkie99 said:

Not to put words into Lieutenant Kyle's mouth, but his response would probably be the obvious, which has already been stated several times now by myself and Lieutenant Uhura.

Asking questions is good, but failing to vote is not. Someone is going to die whether we lynch or not. The difference is that the deceased will most assuredly be a Federation officer if we do not do it ourselves.

But don't worry Lieutenant Kyle, Spock is here to explain your behavior.

If one or both of you are Townies, you're bonkers. Unhelpful Starfleet are as bad as Romulans so way to stumble over your own feet all day.

Kyle @KotZ hasn't said much at all about the questions that have been proposed to him. As CMP pointed out, he somewhat disappeared once the focus turned to him. I'm curious, Kyle, what do you have to say about your involvement in this little kerfuffle?

23 hours ago, Trekkie99 said:

While I can appreciate your cultured taste, I can't appreciate your attempt be the first to vote since it does not actually qualify as a real vote. I sometimes associate being the first to vote as a town action, but doing this in the form of a "joke vote" makes me slightly suspicious

He says as he places the first vote. :hmpf: self-addressed WIFOM. WIFOM in WIFOM.

Good question. I would also like to hear.

Thanks for the summary, I guess, Scotty?

I must say it is remarkable that in Spock's logical Vulcan world it is possible to be unhelpful on a day where there is nothing to go on.

You're fiending after a lynch just like Ferengi fiend for money, rather than letting things unfold naturally. And the rest of us are right to find that suspicious.

Actually, I do remember going on the holodeck to watch a movie directed by Commander Bob about a pirate ship. In that, there was a pirate wench very keen to lynch someone, anyone, on the first day of an imperial insurrection.

That gives me a little pause.

@Hinckley I'm really not one for words, and I check the day thread a lot but don't have time to formulate my thoughts in a meaningful way (yay keeping this transport stuff doing things). I think Spock is acting weird and latches on to people that aren't as vocal, either as an attempt to get people to talk or agree with people who does have his viewpoint (be it if he's scum or town). Also my humor is very self deprecating.

As I said, the explanation from Umbra-Manis just seems "ok" to me. I can't put my finger to it, it just is milquetoast. But maybe that's just me.

While I know for a fact that we won't be catching a Romulan today, and that being escorted off the bridge is an unfortunate event, I have to admit I am rather satisfied with this lynch for the aid (I feel) it will give in finding the Romulans in the coming days. Live long and prosper.

You weren't ready to vote for him earlier, but you're right on the heels of Uhura's vote. I wonder if our replicators produce mutton?

This.

Very this.

I was ambivalent on McCoy’s scumminess. And now I’m back listening to your boys rather than logging deep space signals, searching for the enemy within, it’s not a good look.

I don’t need to do anything more, I agree with the beaming Spock to the brig, even if it’s just as punishment for the way he treats me in some future reboot when I’m even younger and hotter than now.

Oh, by the way Scotty, I’m Uhura. Easy to spot. I’m the only girl, the only PoC and the only one who’s done all’y’all’s jobs at some time or another.

Exactly this. Regardless of what your lynch might directly tell us Spock, look at all this discussion we've gotten done in the time since the McCoy bandwagon fell apart. If everyone hopped on it, we wouldn't have nearly as much to dissect in the days to come. The more we talk, the more chances scum have to slip up.

So everybody start screaming!

Nurse Chapel is on only here because she’s sleeping with the show creator. Even the actress playing her finds her character boring and namby-pamby. One of Mudd’s women at best.

(Yes, I remembered her, I just discounted her for character/play reasons, not as a comment on Kscary)

Sounds like a textbook case of hairstyle jealousy to me. I recommend a visit the Bricks & Pieces replicator.

"Alright Spock, prepare to be transported to the brig." Kirk said.

"Very well, Captain. I hope to be reunited with you soon when this is all over."

img_2464_-_copy.jpg

A really poor beam-out effect locked onto Spock, and he was transported off the bridge.

img_2465.jpg

And with that, Spock was gone.

"That's it, Captain. The transporter circuits are fried. I'll get back to work right away."

The captain's chair beeped.

"Captain, we've finished our investigation of Mr. Spock..."
