Arjan de Jong Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 I started to build my Liebherr LTM 1200-5-1 on base of the Lego model 42009. If anyone is interested i will post here foto's and info, Quote
1gor Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 Certainly we are interested, but if it is work in progress, please change topics title into V.I.P. Lego LTM 1200-5-1 Regards Quote
Arjan de Jong Posted July 7, 2019 Author Posted July 7, 2019 The first step was to discover the scale. With the measures of the tyres the scale was around 1:24. So i had to change the axle distance and the wide of the undercarriage. Quote
Arjan de Jong Posted July 7, 2019 Author Posted July 7, 2019  Changing the axle distance By the way i need some help to post bigger foto's. Quote

Thanks for idea Marek @Arjan de Jong a d @dunes it sould be W.I.P (Work In Progress) and not V.I.P (Very Important Person) Edited July 8, 2019 by I_Igor Quote
nerdsforprez Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 I would certainly be interested in more photos and perhaps even a video. No matter how many renditions of these cranes there are, they never get old, at least not for me. Love that you are also actually using blueprints and scaling metrics. Yours looks very promising. Agree cranes are something special when you see this monster on the road tempts you to replicate it in Lego... IMHO most realistic Moc can only be done using blueprints because in calculations sooner or later you miscalculate (your self) Quote
Arjan de Jong Posted July 8, 2019 Author Posted July 8, 2019 By the way i need some help to post bigger foto's. This was the first difficult part. I had to make the base smaller. Quote
Arjan de Jong Posted July 8, 2019 Author Posted July 8, 2019 Here is the base of the crane with the right wide and the right axle distances. There wil be more details. Quote

coinoperator Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Great design but why do the outriggers stick up "a middle finger" I can't find this at the original. Quote

Arjan de Jong Posted July 20, 2019 Author Posted July 20, 2019 Some details. After about 140 houres work the crane is almost ready. The beasic model has around 2600 pieces. My version is abot 4300 pieces. Quote
1gor Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Impressive crane...I would never thought that you put extra 1700 parts at (approximately) similar size. (Specially when I concentrate on using as less as possible parts in my mocs) Quote
