leafan Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Hi everyone, I'm building a few old Castle sets from 2nd hand lots I've bought and often find that the string from the drawbridge is missing or broken. This type of string. I don't want to make an order on Bricklink for such a thing so does anyone have experience with replacing them from a major retailer like Amazon (especially UK), please? Hard to know what string to order without having it in my hands. Ideally, I want the same thickness and in black. A whole reel of it. Quote
AmperZand Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 @leafan , You want non-stretch beading cord/string in a natural fibre. I believe that the thickness that corresponds to the one you linked to is Size 10 (0.9mm diameter). This in black for example. Hope that helps, Amps Quote
MAB Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 I use what is often referred to as "heavy duty upholstery thread for shoes" from ebay. What I have is slightly thinner than the official LEGO string, but very strong. It is also handy for stringing up flying models from the ceiling. Quote
leafan Posted June 21, 2019 Author Posted June 21, 2019 Thank you both. I can now make a more informed decision. Quote
