I was wondering what the chances of WW sets returning are? Because they first appeared on 1996, then in 2001 (or was it 2002?) So what are the odds of a third return?

Or world war  .

Incidentley, my brother got the 2001 or 2002 version of Fort LegoRedo, but the stickers for the sign have really started to peel off.

We've discussed this topic through a few different threads before (usually those relating to "if Lego were to release a new WW theme, what sets would they make"?)

If Lego were to do so, I think they would need some motivation or a catalyst. For example; if Lego saw a lot of interest in the theme through AFOL mocs, a new WW blockbuster movie aimed at younger children, or even a lot of letters requesting the theme, the chances would be much greater.

I do think we will eventually see the theme again (just like Pirates). The question is just a matter of WHEN?

In the mean time, build those MOCs and send in those letters to Lego. Give them a reason to build the theme again.

YA! Let's all build MOCs and send letters requsting the WW theme back!

(WW does mean Wild West)

Since TLG is on a more classic way - regarding mainly the City theme - and did release themes like Aquaraiders and Mars Mission which haven't been there for some years, I think a new WW theme doesn't lie to far away - even therefore because the WW theme would contain a lot of fantasy and action elements. And these elements seem to be the most important aspects for kids and the decision of TLG releasing a set.

But first of all there surely will be a comeback of pirates because it seems as if the community of pirates fans is bigger than the one of WW fans.

I think that a big and popular WW movie would surely rise the possibilities for a new WW theme.

But I personally wouldn't be very content with it because I think that TLG would then release WW sets based on a license on that movie - and that would be   because I really would like to see some new WW sets - but not some based on licenses.

To conclude: I think - and I do really hope, too - that there will be a comeback of the WW theme - but I don't think that that will take place in the nearest future.

If you want to you can read my statement how TLG could - in my opinion successfully - let the WW theme come back here.

What?! I didn't know that it is possible to send letters with your MOCs to Lego. How does that function (in Germany)?

I meant this separately; meaning, keep sharing your WW MOCs on Lego community forums, and writing letters to Lego asking for a return of the WW theme.
