62Bricks Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 For the Mission to Mars contest I plan to build a vehicle specially suited for operation on the Martian surface. Some first thoughts: Use local energy sources, potentially Wind Solar Gravity Adaptable to the Martian terrain sandy/dusty surface scattered rocks slopes and hills Modular/configurable for different tasks and conditions Quote
62Bricks Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 I may use a walker mechanism like this wind-up version I made. Quote
Kio Liex Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 What a great idea with the walker. I Have also thought of using the wind-up part to drive something. I am looking forward to seeing what you end up with. Quote
62Bricks Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 Another possibility is to adapt my Windwalker strandbeest model Quote

Of course you can use certain concepts, but the model for the contest needs to be a new model. Quote

Jim Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I always love looking at these kind of contraptions. Nice work. Keep it up. Quote
ArsMan064 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Great idea! Just one note: the atmosphere on Mars is too rarefied to use Quote
