Hi Guys!

How are ya!

Over the course of several days, I had difficulty installing the Lego digital designer, since I had to remove it from my PC and reinstall it due to disk space problems:
I downloaded the LDD (4.3.11) for Windows, when the setup finishes decompressing the program, a warning box appears for the application 'Win-Zip Self Extractor' that says denied access, and the configuration of the LDD is automatically closed. On other occasions when I deleted Win Zip, the LDD configuration can be completed, but the "Delete temporary files" legend appears at the bottom right for 3 seconds,I guess. Actually, I have Win Zip installed but, as I say, it prevents me from installing Lego D.D.
Can someone help me solve this problem? Has another person suffered this problem?  Can you recommend me different programs to LDD where you can build with blocks like LDD?. Thanks to the people who support me and help me solve this problem.

FYI, LDD is no longer supported by Lego. You should switch to something newer like LDCAD or Stud.io. They are both free and being updated and improved several times per year. LDCAD is great for flexible parts and Stud.io has the ability to make renders and convert files to/from other formats. For making building instructions LPUB3D is your software, your files just have to be in LDRAW format. This can be done by Stud.io. LPUB3D is also free to use. There are many good tutorials too.

LDD might become obsolete one day, but I still find it extremely useful. I haven't had any trouble installing LDD in the many times I have done it. Based on your images, your Windows does not look dated, so it should be able to install softwares by itself without the help of other softwares. And you said that without WinZip you are able to complete the installation? As for the "Delete Temporary Files", based on what you saw, is it deleting temporary files, or is it asking you to manually delete the temporary files. Is there any issues with this delete temporary files thing that prevents you from installing or using LDD?

The difficulties to install LDD on modern Windows operating system is already discussed here in the digital forum.
Anyway this seems to be a different issue, due to WinZip that locks the file. Very strange, never head about that.
My suggestion is to remove WinZip and replace it with 7zip.

There are many alternatives to LDD. Which one is the most suitable for you depends on your needs.
You can consult the Section Index (one of the two pinned topic of this section) get an overview of main LEGO digital building software.

Thanks for reply me. So, when I don´t  Win Zip , the Setup gets colmplete, but after 3 or 4 second I guess, the "Deleting Temporary Files"legend appears and automatically the Setup gets closed.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I will see what can I do with 7zip.

My principal needs are make custom sets for rendering  and modify them in Photoshop; and make screenshots to make minifigures / CMF drafts. So, what alternatives can you suggest me?

Thanks.
