cjtonic Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 (edited) Here comes a project that I am currently working on digitally. I am thinking about merging my love for modular buildings from the Creator Expert line with my love for Ninjago. What do you think? Lego David Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 The images are a little to dark, I can't see the MOC clearly... Quote

Fenghuang0296 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Wow, nice! One question, why did you cut away the bottom part? The core Ninjago City is so tall, why not let the cinema match? Quote
Johnny1360 Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Very good, well incorporated, the building reminds me a great deal of Back to the Future clock tower building. Quote

The lower layer (below the platform) more represents the old town with rather old houses. The upper level including the platform seems to be added a lot later with it’s buildings being more modern. This is why I tried to make the actual cinema part of one level only. I also liked the idea of the movie posters from the ground floor being just a wall decoration nex to the small canal that goes from the front to the back of the building. I hope this part turns out far better in the real life version of the model. The digital version doesn’t give me the stickers ( forever sorting etc. ) You can see this part in the following image: it leaves the windows with the stickers empty in reality you will see the movie posters being lighted by the lights above Edited March 18, 2019 by cjtonic Quote

I mean, why not put both floors on the 'upper level'? So the foyer is on the same level as the elevated walkway - where the upper floor is now - and then the upper floor is above that? So that the red tiled roof is on more-or-less the same level as Lloyd's house? It would make it taller and more impressive. Quote
GeoBrick Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Oh my, very intricate. Can't decide wether the 'old level' looks more (European) medieval or Far Eastern, but it is beautiful. Though I keep thinking its a kind of underwater scene with the background color. Quote
