kofi Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Hey there I am back with a Microscale! It is all about the City Theed on Naboo. Let me know what you think about it! Naboo City by kofi, auf Flickr Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Great diorama, there’s loads of detail for the size! I love where you’ve used a helmet for one of the building domes. Quote
Kristof Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 That's a lot of feather pieces in green :D I like it quite a bit - very original for sure. Highlights for me is the part use - the sand green helmet for instance. Not sure about the officer caps in terms of how well they mimic roofs... for me it's hard not to see the cap in there :D And in my very subjective opinion the buildings could use a little more bulk. It looks a bit like that the vegetation is taking over :D But overall it's great.!The terrain is spectacular and I really like how you decided to break the edge of the frame on these two spots. Especially the forest leak I think prevents the whole front edge to look like very synthetic planting pot with all these small feather pieces planted in perfectly aligned brown hollow studs. I'd probably like to see it broken down even a bit more. Oh and IMO several sparse bits of darker green would make the vegetation even more realistic. Quote

Looking at pictures of Theed on the web, the buildings clearly stand out whereas here they sort of blend in. I think the issue might be that you've built trees using the 1x1 plant stem and 1x1 flower studs, but they are just too large compared to the buildings. Perhaps represent the trees using just the 1x1 flower studs? Quote
Little Brix Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Super MOC! If you were to make improvements, I’d try to make the buildings stand out more by using more of the sandy yellow bricks to replace some of the vegetation. Quote
kofi Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 Thank you for your comments! Yes the buildings should stand out much more than they do now! I will give it a try! Quote
