Robert8 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 The Avengers cast hosting the Oscars might be the most outrageous thing to ever happen in the ceremony since the Snow White/Rob Lowe number Quote
Vindicare Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I hope that doesn’t happen. I’ve grown very tired of politics plaguing everything....and I know a fair number of the cast won’t be a me to help themselves. I won’t be watching if they do host. Quote

I even like the Avengers cast, but have any of them done something on this grand a scale? I have watched every Oscar event since 2014, but this year I am thinking of just skipping. So much drama for a 4 hour Pat yourself on the back celebration of Hollywood. Wish we could back to the 1930's where they gave the awards, speeches were given and shows over. All in around 30 minutes, no ridiculous time wasting fluff. Anyway I am still watch the films they nominate. I love making predictions so I thought I would make some Best Picture nominations. 10th most likely: Widows 9th most likely: Annihilation 8th most likely: Hereditary 7th most likely: BlacKkKlansman 6th most likely: First Man 5th most likely: Green Book 4th most likely: A Star Is Born 3rd most likely: Roma 2nd most likely: The Favourite 1st most likely: If Beale Street Could Talk Would be interested too see your guy's thoughts. Robert8 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 I can't believe Christopher Robin and Solo got nominated for special effects instead of Aquaman! CHRISTOPHER ROBIN!!! Quote
jimmynick Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I really enjoyed BlacKkKlansman; hope it wins best picture. On 1/10/2019 at 10:27 PM, Khscarymovie4 said: 1st most likely: If Beale Street Could Talk Didn't even make it! Quote

Good thing I didn't place any money on my prediction. Not really impressed with the nominations. I liked Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody but I don't think their best picture worthy. I have not seen the other movies but I plan too soon. Quote
Hickernator Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I was hoping that Orson Welles's The Other Side of the Wind would have got a nomination for a category. I'm guessing that since it was distributed by Netflix that it was illegible for a nomination. I've not seen any of the films nominated however I reckon for Best Picture it'll be Roma, Best Director Alfonso Cuaron, Best Actor Rami Malek and Best Actress Melissa McCarthy Quote
Robert8 Posted February 26, 2019 Author Posted February 26, 2019 Im so happy Spiderman got the Oscar! Totally deserved it. But that means the film is going back to theaters, which is bad for TLM2.... Other than that, a really nice ceremony with the biggest surprise being how well it went without a host (followed by Gleen Close not winning). Quote

That said, I felt moved by Glenn Close's performance in The Wife and felt she deserved the award, but I also know that Olivia Colman deserved it from what I've seen of her in other TV and Movies (sorry, haven't got around to seeing The Favourite yet).
