Before the the Lothario decided to join the Sea Rat expedition to the unknown lands, he and his two brothers had a discussion in the captains' quarters of the Octopus.

Talk

"Lothario," Jacobo said "it is time to expand. We have no clue to where our father is or what happened. I want to go on the expedition, but I think it is wise if we split up for the time being. I know some sailors in the Sereen Qay  who are willing to make a doubloon with me on trading some weapons."

Alfie and Lothario looked at each other and nodded, this has been coming for some time. Alfie responded: "I'll travel with you to the Sereen Cay where we will get you a ship. I will stay there and try to enlarge the family business on land." Lothario knew they needed to split up, if they ever wanted to create a sizable business.

so was decided

And so they agreed.

Alfie and Lothario Fraunces traveled as planned to the Sea Rat village, which was still fairly new. With the help of some connections they bought a class 3 trading ship, sailed over to the settlement to sell to the brothers. After a new crew had been mustered, the ship took of on her first adventure under a new captain. Alfie stayed in the Sereen Cay, fascinated by the tales of the Corlander explorer which never returned from the main island.

This is my first ship, all brick made. I did not have more prefab hull pieces, so I made this one from only bricks. The deck can be lifted to show the gunhold, crewhut and captains hut:

Just in time for the MRCA :innocent:

The presentation is not very well as I am always struggling to make good pictures with my phone. Need to invest in a decent camera sometime. If anyone knows a good tutorial on how to make quality pics with a white background, please share.

Great looking ship! I think you did very well with brick building it. Also, I like the sails, it looks like they are full of wind and pushing the ship onwards!

I use my phone for all my real brick builds, but then again I have a really good camera on my phone... Right now the pictures kind of give it that classic lego pirates photography look, like the pictures from old boxes or catalogs, which I quite like.

I think your sunset pic turned out pretty good to be honest, and the ship is quite nice.  I like the effort you made with the yardarms.

Rather than invest in a new camera, consider a couple of cheap reading lamps.  I think having light sources from different angles to reduce/eliminate shadow will help a lot.

A very fine example of a Brigantine, I think it's always nice to see other sail carrying types in Bobs (other then the usual ship rig)
The sunset picture is really nicely done.

You make me a little bit sea sick with the camera angle on that first picture.

Nice vessel you made and absolutely great job on that last pic! It looks so peacefull...

Nice vessel. I like the sail plan as well and that last pic looks inviting. Hopefully you can get the photography issues solved and maybe we can see more.

Does the crew sing "It's Me Again, Margaret" whenever they come aboard? :pir-grin:

Nice job with the custom hull, it's beautifully shaped.

Thanks Bodi, I have been looking at a lot of your ships as well for some inspiration or when I was stuck on the build. Shipbuilding is hard!!:pir-grin:

I will try improve the presentation, and I had some good tips so that will be better. The crew does sing that song indeed, including the laugher, chickensounds and barks.
