I use MLCad 3.40. I've installed by someone else a 'older' version, and a file with parts? and I've seen several parts wich I don't have.
Now I've download that file also but I'm wondering if you can see somewhere how many parts I have, and how many parts I have after the install.
It's a bit useless but I'm just curious how many 'new' parts are gonna added.

In MLCAD go to "file", "save parts list", will show how many parts you have.

Yes, I know. I ment, can you see how many parts are available in the database? I like to know how many parts I can choose of now, and after I 'install' the new partslist.

I remember using mklist from the command line to let MLCad know about new parts. THat would output a total number of parts and, if memory serves, also the number of new parts added to the library.
