iamded Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 So, with today off, I decided to make a MOC. I got the idea when I was in bed last night. I think, I can't really remember, maybe I've been playing too much Postal2, maybe it has something to do with finding a Torro brick in my box of free Bionicle, either way, it's a good reason to try out the SNOT road technique. A few of the people are protesting against clone bricks, a few are running from the chaos, but most are just rioting. BOOM! Well,I promised fire, didn't I? Mr Molotov strikes again. Oh look, it's that statue again. This time in the overgrown, unkempt park. Oh yeah, and the protestors/rioters/fleeing citizens in the background. Oh good, the Police have arrived, with guns and those whacky batons! The yellow shop is trhe well known "Guns" gun store, for all your zombie hunting needs and more! The other shop is the infamous fashion clothing store, "20". Keeping minifigs trendy since y2K! More photos and such in my brickshelf gallery. Enjoy, comments and criticism appreciated! ~Peace Quote
Dragonator Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 This is very well done, I like all the action and the road looks great! The best part is of course the statue I like the fire. A very nice MOC, keep them coming! Quote
iamded Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks Flatfoot and dragonator! I'm really happy with the road and zebra crossing. Whoever thought of that technique is a genius! ~Peace Quote
LuxorV Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Neat scene, Iamded. It looks so very real. Is that a Molotov the man with the green cap is holding ? It's the first time I see a LEGO Molotov ! Nice statue, btw; I wonder where you got the idea . LuxorV Quote
iamded Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks LuxorV! Yep, that sure is. ~Peace Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Nice riot going on there. Is that a bottle bank beside the gun store? Is that batons from a real set? Never noticed it before Quote
Basiliscus Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 This is a neat little scene. It's simple but yet gets the message across (i.e. there is a riot going on). The use of flames at the explosion is impeccable and I like the zebra crossing. You also did well with your minifig positioning, well done! Is that batons from a real set? By the looks of things, they are made from two pieces - one is a black 'lightsaber blade' and the other is normally used as a lever (in dark bley though) in most of the Aqua Raiders sets. Is my analysis correct iamded? Quote

No, not a bottle bank, a clothes store. You can't really see, but there's a shirt and a pair of pants on display. You get a better view here. hahaha, that's great! Thanks Nikola! Is my analysis correct iamded? Thank you very much, Basilicus! Yes, you were right in the construction of the baton. I thought they were more commonly known as Exo-force robot hands. I got the black one from the evil Wizard's staff from the Castle line. A pretty vivid turmoil indeed! Thanks Asuka! ~Peace Quote
Plural Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 A nice liitle scene and an awesomely SNOTty road. Quote
filefolders Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Why are your police trying to stop the anti-clone protest? Do they support Megabloks?!?!?! The horror! Quote
iamded Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 Haha, I knew a comment like that would come up eventually. This thought occurred to me before, the police aren't going to stop the nice protesters, just the rioters, those guys looting and burning and scaring the good citizens. Thanks for the comment! ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 How did I miss this? Sorry iamded! I love everything about this! The snot road is fantastic, and the whole riot scene is excellently action packed and crazy! Love the banners too, it really adds a lot. The molotov is excellent too, just what every good riot needs. Nice little shop and overgrown park too, I like the statue (still ) Fantastic work, and thanks for giving me a laugh mate! Batbrick Away! Quote
