Modeltrainman Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 (edited) I've noticed that some LEGO Ideas projects tend to do well, get to about 1,000 supporters, and start to falter. I'd like to humbly suggest that we cooperate to help others get their best projects moving more. Here is a thread to do so, hopefully it's OK. Thanks to Graupensuppe for the suggestion. Edited December 22, 2018 by JopieK Sorry for messing up the title (merge did that). Quote
Graupensuppe Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 (edited) Since the thread hasn't been closed or moved in 14 hours, I presume it's okay... Let's see if it catches on! So, yeah, I'll support yours if you support mine: Vostok 1 - The First Manned Spaceflight Projects supported so far: Up to and including "Kiko - Cowabunga TMNT Modular Sewage" Edited January 22, 2019 by Graupensuppe Quote
Johnny1360 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I really hope I am not stepping on any toes here, but to me it seems a bit fishy to vote for someone else's project just because they vote for mine, regardless of the quality of their idea. Though I do applaud the effort to support worthy projects and bring recognition to the standouts. Quote
Modeltrainman Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 @Graupensuppe Supported! Quote
Graupensuppe Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 @Modeltrainman Thank you! Are you going to post a link to one of your projects as well? It looks like this didn't catch on quite as well yet as I would've expected. I wonder what percentage of the 1700 active Ideas projects is by Eurobricks members anyway... Quote
Modeltrainman Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 Would you like me to? The only one currently up that's physically done , is nowhere near as good as your rocket. If you want to take a look.... You know, I have 3, so I'll just put all 3 up, you choose what you like best. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/d5dea954-42e2-44c5-8878-5ccbae940784 is an American boxcar, done in LDD, https://ideas.lego.com/projects/137f34c6-88d2-454a-a825-449872a71321 is a British style coach, and https://ideas.lego.com/projects/761d1ae6-5ccc-4bc9-b74c-ab7960a77036 is Dissney's Sea Duck, from Talespin. MatthewRC Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I'm currently planning to resubmit my Codename: Kids Next Door Sector V figures project on LEGO Ideas, so may I post a link to my KND project in this thread after it goes live? Quote

anothergol Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 (edited) IMHO "mutual support" is a bit lame. You support a project if you like it, not because the guy is your friend or to get votes back. And yeah, I'm 100% aware that nearly all projects reach 10k votes because of medias, but still. Plus a thread here isn't gonna bring you hundreds of votes anyway. Also, not to bash your project, but yours isn't the best (nor the worst) of the (many!) Up projects, so if these 2 "only" reached 1k, well.. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/039e1bed-fea5-4af9-a997-d31996a49291 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/8d3513e9-3a75-4226-9ac3-277138ecef09 Presentation is also key, IMHO if you can't make better pictures, you should try a (Stud.io) 3D render. I imagine "only" meaning not good enough to be considered (after all 1000 is just 10% of what is needed), while implying it was still a good effort to get to 1000. Quote
Modeltrainman Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 OK, thanks for the clarification. Quote
