Moppo Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 This thing has been sitting on my shelf for months now, but I've been afraid to touch it in case the wings popped off. They were only attached with two clips each. D: So I finally got around to strengthening it recently and I can finally do this! https://flic.kr/p/2dGTQaB Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Nice model, I really like how you’ve created the shape at the rear! Quote
Anio Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Very nice model indeed. Clever build on the core of the ship and the upper wings with studs out on both sides. Quote
Daddy_Stardust Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Wonderful work, soooo much better than the utterly revolting Tracker 1 which is the closest Lego has done to releasing this officially. Quote
Cylo Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 This looks great! The wings are cleverly built. I like it! Quote
Brick-Wombat Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 It looks identical to Rebel Builder's Quote
Moppo Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 It's very similar, but it's hardly identical. There's not really any other parts that work for the cockpit (I prefer to use a single piece, instead of a brick-built canopy). As for the shape of the wings, there's not really any other way to get that shape, unless I'd used sloped bricks instead of plates, but that would add structural problems that weren't worth it for me. Since i saw it first, i wondered how it would look like "jeraced". I love the snots on both sides of the panels, didn't know there's a technique for this. Superb build! Now i wonder how standard TIEs would look like using this. As much as i love @Jerac's designs, sometimes they are almost too smooth. Quote
