ks6349 Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Downtown Diner? Pet shop? Assembly Square? I 'm interested in these three but I'll only buy one of them among three because of budget and time of playing. What do you think ? I can't decide.... Give me some comments please Quote
deraven Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 If you're only getting one, I'd go with Assembly Square. It can also bridge the gap between styles, so that's another reason I'd get it as a stand-alone that you can then decide to add to later however you'd like. I think Pet Shop is a nice set, but not nearly as much detail inside (if that's something you're looking for), and not a very interesting exterior as well, though it is a nice addition to a street full of other modulars, I just wouldn't get it on its own to begin with. One other thing to take into account, however, is that Pet Shop will become increasingly hard to find so if you're adding to an existing collection that might push it to the top of the list. Downtown Diner is nice and visually interesting, but I don't think it goes with the other Modular buildings very well, so if you're planning on getting more of the older line in the future (or already have some that you're adding to), I'd not go with it over either of the other 2. But, of course, your own preferences and tastes are most important! Quote
LegoDW Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Assembly Square if costs is not an issue. If it is, you might want to look at the Detective's Office or Parisian Restaurant. IMO PR stands out best as a stand alone display, but that my opinion only. Quote

If that is, I will just give up considering this set. 2 hours ago, LegoDW said: Assembly Square if costs is not an issue. Slowly, yes. It still goes for $150-200 USD so not that much more than the original retail price, but it's already been discontinued for 2 years and I can only imagine will continue to increase as they become more scarce. Not likely to happening overnight, but if it's something you want to add to your collection I'd look at grabbing it sooner than later since the other 2 you mentioned are still current products. Quote

Here in my country, the price of Downtown Diner approx USD 145 the price of Assembly square approx USD 215 In fact, I also like lego carousel 10257 , the lowest price I can find is USD 160 , quite surprisingly to me. In fact, I also like carousel very much, but is it a good price ? USD 160? will it retire this year? Quote

We can never be sure, but I don't think it's going to retire particularly soon so I don't think there's a rush to pick that one up. Quote
Bricked1980 Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 I would say Assembly Square is definitely the best out of the three. Downtown Diner is good, I actually finished building my copy last Saturday and it was a great fun model to build with some interesting techniques. The finished model just doesn't have the same wow factor as Assembly Square though in my opinion. Quote
