cimddwc Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Hello everyone, something a little bit different for a change, especially architecturally: A modern, artistic building that grows from the ruins of an old one... topped with an over-the-top golden sculpture. An overview of the pieces of art found in the gallery. A few notes: Top row: The bee is from a Unikitty set, as well as the piggy next to it that didn't make it into the gallery after all. The ugly dark red figure is a Bionicle "minifigure", the ice sculpture from a City advent calendar. Second row: The orange thing is mostly from a Moana set, the blue disc from the Dimensions game. Third row: That silver thing is a Ninjago spinner thing. A brick separator was kinda mandatory. :) The gold sculpture is from an old reverse-engineering contest, and the white thing from Nexo Knights. Bottom row: Left is a plate from the German footballers CMF. The floors: (Detail images on Flickr.) » Flickr album with more photos Hope you like it... Quote
Man with a hat Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 hmm, nice and quite interesting. Like an architect putting a modern building between old buildings. But in real life it doesn't alway work that well. Quote
peedeejay Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 An unexpected and interesting build. I like how you're resuing minibuilds from pretty much everywhere for the pieces of art. Would like to see how this build looks inside your city. :) Quote
Mestari Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Yes, interesting and unexpected are the words that come to mind :) In real life I am not a fun of such buildings. So, although this is well executed (as always in your case), I can't force myself to like it.. Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Unusual but fantastic look building! Very original! Quote
paupadros Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Very unusual building. At first I was a bit doubtful but I think you can make it work very nicely in your layout. The first thing it reminded me is of U2's Popmart tour. Flamboyant, really different from all their other stuff but brilliant! It's wonderful; I especially like the colour strips between the floors, they really make it pop. Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 I just can't help but think of The Daily Planet when I see the ornamentation crowning this creation. Quote
bricksboy Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 It is very interesting and creative building. Good Job! Quote
greg3 Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Excellent build!! I like the idea of it being built inside the remains of an older building and the display pieces are great!! Nice work!! Quote
