SimWies Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 (edited) Hello everyone, I have been lurking here on the forum for a few years now, reading your stories and admiring your fantastic MOCs. Several times over the years I thought about joining, but life got in the way, as it always does. But with the Summer Joust coming up, I thought, what better time to join and start building than now! I am by no means experienced in building MOCs, but I am happy to learn. Therefore I am happy to present to you my sigfig Sam Weatherstone and pledge allegiance to the mighty Guild of Avalonia. Sam Weatherstone is the youngest memeber of House Weatherstone and he is the new commander of the troops of House Ellerion, the rulers of Everwater, and the right hand to his dear friend and new Lord of Everwater, Alric Ellerion. He is a carpenter, engineer and swordmaster and grew up in Everwater, a small county and city at the northern coast of Avalonia. I hope to tell you about the adventures of Sam, Alric and their friends, how it came that both Alric and Sam had to take up new responsibilites, show you Everwater and tell you even more stories about Sam and his family, for example how they got their name... Grover Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 @SimWies welcome! It is great to see a new member of Avalonia! I'm sorry I'm so late in my reply, life has been very busy lately. Look forward to your builds! Quote

We are getting settled after a move and I haven't unpacked my Lego yet! (For shame!) Quote

SimWies Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) Avalonia Task 2: I finally managed to put something together again for GoH and I am really happy to present to you Sam Weatherstone and his close friends for Avalonia Task 2. I also posted an Everwater Topic (Everwater [Avalonia]) where I will be collection everything I post on here regarding Everwater and the stories of Sam Weatherstone. Sam Weatherstone and his friends From left to right: - Eric Uliah: Grew up as the son of a fisher and joined the Everwater troops as a young boy where he met Sam. Trained as an infantryman, he is a master of the sword and axe. Quick with his mouth he gets the group into and out of trouble. - Mal Berenthal (short for Maleric): He and his twin sister Alera grew up as children of the forest. Quite literally... their family lives on the edge of the great forest in the hinterlands of Everwater. Their adventures in the forest have honed their skills as rangers. They soon joined the ranger troops of Everwater, where they became part of this group of friends. Mal is a trained medic and swordsman. - Alric Ellerion: The new lord of Everwater. Alric Ellerion grew up as the heir to the county of Everwater and joined the troops of Everwater where he quickly rose through the ranks before going of to university to study and be prepard to one day rule and lead the county. Sam is his right hand and his close group of friends will always stand by his side. Trained as a swordman, he knows how to handle himself, but his biggest strength is his charisma. - Sam Weatherstone: Grew up as the youngest member of House Weatherstone. A family well known in the county of Everwater for their loyalty and friendship to the rulers of Everwater, House Ellerion. Their family members have served as members of the troops of Everwater and held other important positions at court over many decades. The family business is carpentry, which is also well known throughout Everwater. Sam originally trained as a carpenter, but soon joined the troops of Everwater, where he rose through the ranks of the infantry division. He later accompanied his close friend Aleric to university, where he studied engineering. Like his friend Eric, he is a master of the sword and axe. - Alera Berenthal: She and her twin brother Mal are the greates rangers Everwater has ever had among their troops. She is a master of the bow and her excellent orientation skills have lead the group through many perils. Having grown up in and around the forest her connection to the woods is especially strong. Grover Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Great group of characters, and I like the brick built bow! Quote
Grover Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I am finally organized and back in the saddle. It has been quiet around here, and I'd love to see some more awesome builds from our new members, so it's time for me to step up and get some building going on for Avalonia from some of the older guard (although I myself am not of the first generation on GoH). The latest installment of Prenmôr is below: Can we do spoilers anymore? The latest update killed BBCode, so I'm unsure how to do spoilers, and I used to use them to make my posts shorter. Not sure what to do about that. Quote

But I plan on building something this summer... Quote

The best I can suggest is to copy it from an old post (you can't straight up copy and paste, but you could jump into the editor or quote it and copy from there), but I suspect that will break the code... let's see: Hide contents 0. Introduction 1. The arrival of Lady Gwenllian aboard the Cedar Serpent 2. Scouting a Site 3. Early Spring in Prenmôr 4. The Fishery and Shrine at Prenmôr 5. Opening of the Prenmôr Quarry 6. Concert in Prenmôr 6a. Fish Fryday! 6b. Highway From Hell 6c. The Dead Drop 7. What will Tomorrow Bring? 7a. Rumors 7b. Palisade can we add new stuff to the bottom too? yes sir! Edit: Whatdya know, it worked! What I did was quote the spoiler into a reply in one of your threads, and then I dragged it out of the quote box and from there copied it into this comment (bracketed with filler text as it's easier to grab that way). I would expect it also to work if you edited your own post and grabbed it from there. Quote
Grover Posted May 13 Posted May 13 @Kai NRG, funny enough, I had thought of the same thing, and then asked about its function on the general forum, and *poof*, they are back! Woo hoo! Spoiler Because, let's face it, no one wants to read half the stuff I write in spoilers. Quote

I had not planned on spending almost 3 years with bricks in storage as I moved and had to work on my house to make it liveable, but c'est la vie! Best of luck to you for your summer builds! I hope to be back in the saddle again this summer as well! Quote

Grover Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I'm trying to get in touch with leadership here to get things rolling again. I hope to ignite some builds and keep things going on GoH. I'm currently building a hops farm, a collab started with @Kai NRG, so we should see some builds soon! Quote

Great to hear @Grover Looking forward to your collab with @Kai NRG. This weekend I should be posting a new MOC of mine. Right after your recent call to action for more activity last week, I started building with a new surge of motivation on my first bigger MOC (and first MOC in the story of Sam Weatherstone)... it's almost finished, just some vegetation and final touches are missing. Grover Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Now that I have my latest freebuild posted and updated the settlement list, I now have my plate cleared off, and I am ready to officially make the announcement: I have been asked to take over as the guild leader of Avalonia, and with much humbleness and gratitude, I have accepted this responsibility. I am very honored that @Henjin_Quilones has asked me to take over this great role, and to have the support of the other guild leaders that are still active here. A *huge* thank you to Henjin, who spent a lot of time organizing and cleaning up the various roles, tasks, lists, and other administrative tasks that keep Historica together. His efforts have helped me keep on top of things, and he has some really amazing builds to boot. Currently there is a forum hiccup that prevents links from working, but you can still find these pages with an internet search of "Eurobricks" and whatever thread you're looking for. Hopefully the links will be fixed shortly. I'm going to try and organize some of the intro threads a bit more to help with finding some of the legacy ongoing threads such as the settlement index. In any case, I would like to formally welcome all the new members to our guild! We are working on getting Book IV started, but we would like some of your input, so when you have a chance, please take a look over in the Book III thread and let us know! Quote
T-86(swebrickLUG) Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) Thank you for your great work and time you’ve put in here @Henjin_Quilones as guild leader 🫡 I think @Groveris a perfect choice for the new Avalonia guild leader! All hail to the both of you and to the greatest guild When I have more time I’ll pick up on your input-inquiry for book IV! Edited June 19 by T-86(swebrickLUG) Quote
Henjin_Quilones Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 Glad to see @Grover taking up the mantle. And by “taking up the mantle” I mean “pulling on the green tights”, of course. I’ll be lurking about and maybe building something here or there, when time permits. Quote
SimWies Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Thanky you @Henjin_Quilones for your work and time as guild leader of Avalonia! I am glad you will continue to be around when there is time. Happy to hear that @Grover will be taking up the mantle. I agree with @T-86(swebrickLUG) on this perfect choice of our new guild leader. Here's to our old and new guild leader and to the mighty guild of Avalonia! ... and now I am heading over to your input inquiry @Grover, to aswer some questions Quote
