oDDerFisken Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I found my old pirateisland - with changes. I had forgotten that i've done does. But i had not taken any pics so i did today. But since it has been placed on a shelf for some months it's a bit dusty. Someone said that the tower could do some work, so I made some changes. And the one asked for a treasure.. so now they've got one. First the old island And now with the changes The old one from the back And the new one Some said, that the old guy could use a hat.. so i gave him. And then of course the treasure The folder when public Hope you like the changes. And sorry that it have taken me months to take the pictures Quote
Asuka Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 It looks good with a little more wood pieces, and the use of that Western head works really well together with that white beard. *sweet* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 24, 2008 Governor Posted March 24, 2008 Actually, I like the old one better :-P The design looks a lot more cohesive whereas the new version appears to have bits added for the sake of adding them which kind of interferes with the consistency of the materials. The back of the old one almost looks like it could be an official set: Quote

I see your point. next ime i'm gonna make a whole new one instead of ruining the old one i think ;-) Quote
SlyOwl Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Could do with a little smoothing, but great work! And I like your frequent use of the Ninja torso; I find mine most appealing in a Piratical context *wub* Regarding the smoothing; do you have many blue bricks? You could go SNOT (Studs Not On Top) for the water; build a large blue wall, turn it on its side and put the rest on top, using technic beams and studs. If not, it doesn't matter, but it could work well. Example: Self-promotion ON! X-D Quote
SirNadroj Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 This is very nice! I must confess, it has a very 'official' feel to it, as if it could be a real set! Looks like it has lots of playabilty, too. Good going! :-) Quote

I agree with you, that it looks very nice with the blue wall as water. but unfortunalty i haven't got a lot of blue bricks so i can't go SNOT 8-| But thank's for the tip anyway :-D Quote
Dukesc Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I like the all black tower in the first one, but I like the little roof in the back with an opening in the second one. I too think this resembles what a real set could have been like. Good job. Duke Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 26, 2008 Governor Posted March 26, 2008 Self-promotion ON! X-D You could replace those Castle figures with pirates and it would work very well indeed. The photography here is pretty good too! Anyway, stop stealing oDDerFisken's thread with your great work :-P Quote
