Okay, so I wasn't sure where to put this, but it relates to a Licensed set, so I figured it was as good a place as any,

Today, I purchased 76103 Corvus Glaive Thresher Attack on sale. One more stone for the Infinity Gauntlet, several minifigures that I didn't have, two of which were exclusive, and some pretty nice parts that I could use for . . well, whatever I wanted.

But when I got to building it, a few things were missing. That is, the minifigures of Nakia and Corvus Glaive, as well as the Mind Stone - that is, the entire bracket, not just one of the four. Everything else was present and accounted for. Even the spare golden blade part of which two are used in the construction of Corvus Glaive's titular weapon.

This leads me to believe that, during production, prior to the set being packaged, some unscrupulous, amoral minifigure collector who works in the production line stole the minifigures, their accessories, and Infinity Stones from my box. This has never happened to me before. I didn't think this sort of thing could happen.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? How should I go about resolving it? Because the fact remains, I bought this. I paid for it with the expectation that I would receive these minifigures, as well as the second-last stone for Thanos' Gauntlet.

However, I am concerned that if I file for a replacement using Lego's replacement parts service - after all, these are unique minifigures. How could I prove that I didn't receive them and want extras to sell on the aftermarket?

Please advise.

It’s more likely that someone purchased the set, removed the figures, and took the set back to the retailer. Return it to the shop if you can and exchange it.

Alternatively go to lego customer services, bricks and pieces, and go to the ‘missing bricks’ section. On certain items, such as Minifigures, they will ask for a code that is present on the back of the instruction manual.

Oh, crash, you're right. I just inspected the packaging again; the bags were cut open along the side and taped up.

Okay, if you think they'll allow it.

Since it isn’t Lego’s fault, I think you should exchange it at the shop.

They will allow it. Lego are really good at customer service like that. Some people think it’s unfair to ask lego if it’s not their fault. But at the end of the day they are a multi-billion dollar company, I’m sure it doesn’t hurt them and they’re usually okay with it

Although they will log that you have requested multiple minifigures from one set. Do this once and it is fine. Do it multiple times and they won't supply them and ban you from requesting missing parts.

Better to take it back to the retailer. Next time inspect the box before buying, look for taped seals or cut or rough edges.

I would take it back to the retailer. I'm sure Lego would be happy to replace as well, but seems more like a retailer problem.

this seems to be becoming more of a problem, I have come across of few of these pre opened then returned sets in recent years. most recently i got a really good clearance deal on set 76107 then i got it home and found that someone had bought it prior to me, built the set, dismantled most of it and returned it minus the figures, instruction book, and stickers???

I returned it and told the retailer what was going on, it sucks because it was a great price

Had this exact thing happen to me, taped up & all. All the minifigs in the Batcave Break-Out were missing. The bags were, upon looking closer, were taped up very carefully, as were the seals on the box.

It has only happened that one time out of the hundreds I bought, so I don’t think it’s all too common, but it certainly feels like a punch in the gut.

All of them? That's unlucky. For me, it was only the two that were unique to the set; the other three were present and accounted for.

The thing that confuses me even now is; the box that contained Vision and Corvus Glaive's capes. How did he get it open to remove Corvus' cape without damaging it? He even left Vision's cape in there too . . .

From memory the cape boxes have tape on the back. Sometimes the capes are in separate boxes. (If the minifigs are in separate numbered bags this will be the case)

Firstly go back to the store. They should learn from these things as well.

The people that took out the figs and returned the set are criminals. It’s thievery, and maybe they do it more often overthere.

Of course this is not limited to Lego. True story.. we bought a toilet seat once and when we got it home and opened the box someone's old used toilet seat was in the box. No one ever gave me an issue returning it, but my wife kept saying the store was going to think we did it. Thankfully I've worked at enough stores to know that the people working there really don't care that much. They follow the return policies and that's about it.

I actually brought the Thanos Ultimate Battle set from a mall in portugal and the infinity gauntlet was missing.

They told me to contact lego and i did.

i explained the situation to them and they sent me the gauntlet.
