Stauder Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Who said it's a kid? Maybe it's a afol who works hard for his collection? Assuptions OFF! Stauder. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Who said it's a kid? Maybe it's a afol who works hard for his collection?Assuptions OFF! Stauder. Agreed! Besides, a kid wouldn't have that many organization abilities. :-P Did you notice that he only has the Indy truck chase, the Indy motorcycle chase, Clone BPs, Droid BPs, Rebel BPs, Imperial BPs, two Hoth Bases, and apparently a bunch of minifigs. :-/ Besides, it's a VERY spoiled kid who can walk up to mom and say GIMME W CLONE BPs, X DROID BPs, Y REBEL BPs, AND Z IMPERIAL BPs, AND I WANT THEM IN THIS HOUSE PRONTO! Then the mom, frightened of what the kid might do, runs out of the house and buys out all the TRUs and Wal-Marts in the town. :-D Quote
phoinix Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 who has this kind of money? and why spend it all for lego? he seems to be out of control! no wonder AFOLS are 20% of lego sales Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 This one looks like one of Copmike's smuggling attempts... :-P Too many BPs on OFF Quote
Deinonychus Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 who has this kind of money? An adult with a good job and a Wife who supports his LEGO habit. (Or no wife :-P ) Personally I still don't see the point in dozens and dozens of battle packs. Sure you get a giant clone or droid army...but that's all you get...who are you trying to impress? I'd rather get one of each LEGO set with the ability to get doubles of something really cool...like the old Republic Gunship Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 who are you trying to impress? Possible future wives Quote
Mr. Builder Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Well, that surely isn't anything compared to what I once saw on brickshelf. Look: ah dang, can't find it. Well, It's a guy who has like 10 of one kind of UCS, and like a million other things. Quote
CopMike Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 This one looks like one of Copmike's smuggling attempts... :-P No !! Try not !! Do, or do not !! There is no tryWhat do you mean by attempts ...? I´ll always pulled them thru X-D!I agree that having loads of these set isn´t really impressive. But if that´s his cup of tea - no problems *y*! Lots & lots On copmike Quote
mutley777 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 It is quite suprising how quickly you can build up a lot of sets so if that is what this guy did good for him(or her). It least they are for himself and are not going back on bricklink or ebay to scalp the people who missed the sets. Last year i bought 52 new star wars sets which was alot even for me, but i must say that i did not realize till i did my annual count up :-D . I guess if you have the money and want the sets, then why not *sweet* . Quote
Derek Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Its disgusting to think of the better things that money couldve been used for... :-P Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Its disgusting to think of the better things that money couldve been used for... :-P WHAAAAT?? X-O Are you saying there is any better use for them than LEGO?? >:-( X-D The Chamber awaits for you, lad!! *vader* Quote
goggleson Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 WHAAAAT?? X-O Are you saying there is any better use for them than LEGO?? >:-( X-D The Chamber awaits for you, lad!! *vader* UCS, much? Exessive briklink buying, no? Quote
Commander Faie Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 WHAAAAT?? X-O Are you saying there is any better use for them than LEGO?? >:-( X-D The Chamber awaits for you, lad!! *vader* There are hungry kids dying in Africa it could've gone to them. *sweet* X-D Quote
Deinonychus Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 There are hungry kids dying in Africa it could've gone to them. *sweet* X-D That's what I was thinking...give them a couple of battle packs to take their mind off the starvation! Although it must be hard to put an Imperial Dropship together with all those damn flies buzzing around your face Quote

Zzz Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I am relaxed as long as he has less (and less rare) OT minifigs and sets than me! :-D The thing about making piles of the same boxes is a bit scary though (no offense when you read this!) - is it a "toyshop syndrom"? Quote
Piranha Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 The moment I saw all the BPs I started laughing hysterically X-D I guess its like when you discover treasure or find the newest Lego sets! A massive army is impressive, but people who have more diverse collections impress me more than someone with hundreds of BPs Collection On! Quote
Captain Brownbeard Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 wow with that many sets hes really lucky! Quote
SlyOwl Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I would just add that very few AFOLs have that many tags in their BS folders... Quote
blueandwhite Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Kid or adult; it's rather irrelevant. If it's a kid, they have a very wealthy set of parents. If it's an adult, he or she undoubtedly makes a more than decent living. There are always going to be KFOLs and AFOLs with seemingly huge collections. Heck, some of us drive fancy new BMWs; others drive beat-up Toyotas. It's not like it's a big deal. Whoever owns this collection could be a real class act, or conversely they could be absolutely abnoxious. There's no point in taking cheap shots though. The fact that this fan has a very expensive collection is really not that impressive. Heck, I'm sure that there are several wealthy fans on these forums who have collections that are just as impressive (ans some poor ones who dump every penny into their LEGO ;-) ). In all honesty, I'd be more impressed if this mass of LEGO goodness was used to create an elaborate scene or MOC. A big pile of bricks is nice, but putting them to good use is definitely part of the equation. Quote
darkrebellion Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) Wow that a huge BPs collection. Personally I only buy each set not the matter if it is at a low price like BPs and if I have double of a set is because of gifts as a main reason ;-) . Edited March 18, 2008 by darkrebellion Quote
