Carefree_Dude Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Imagine, something like LDD where you have a table in front of you to build creations, and draws to your side with infinite parts of any type or color for you to build whatever you wish. One thing that had always made me lose interest in building things on a computer is because it just doesn't feel the same, but VR could give an extremely close feeling to what actual lego building is like. Oky Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I absolutely agree! As you said, this would be the closest we will ever get to fulfilling our dream of building with an endless supply of bricks and a great use of VR! I have an HTC Vive and have been looking for such a game, but sadly I haven't found one. The closest thing we have right now is Minecraft for VR/AR and similar apps such as 3D Sunshine, but nothing actually resembling Lego bricks. I have actually been tinkering with Unity and learning how to use it to develop VR games, and if I ever become comfortable enough with it to create my own game, this will be one of the first projects I will attempt to do. However, I still have a lot to learn before I get there, so don't expect anything from me anytime soon. Hopefully TLG will soon finally adopt this technology and make an official app themselves, even though most of their target demographic probably doesn't have a VR headset. Something as simple as adding a VR mode for LEGO Worlds would be a great start! Quote
