Hi all,

Beyond the Brick is going to be interviewing the Lego Designer's and they're taking your questions!

If we ever want a firm answer on whether or not we'll be getting anything for Castle again, everyone should go to their video now and ask about Castle:

If we all do that, it's sure to be asked as a question and hopefully we'll see more than some fluff answer.

Do it for your Lego Kingdoms, do it for Castle!

I’m pretty sure during LEGO Fan Media Days designers and execs are still beholden to the prohibition on discussing unannounced products in development. And no designer is qualified to answer whether there will be a LEGO Castle theme EVER again, because LEGO can’t plan or anticipate what they’re going to be doing from now until the end of time. At best you could ask why we haven’t had a new Castle theme YET, but I think that’s pretty well understood by now (Nexo Knights WAS the Castle theme for the 2016–2018 cycle, whether or not it was considered one by all Castle fans).

I feel like you could get much, much more interesting answers to questions like “what sorts of features would your ultimate LEGO castle include?” or “how does designing a LEGO castle for girls differ from designing one for boys?” or “what classic LEGO sets inspire you?” or “what classic LEGO castle faction would you like to bring back?” than by asking sorts of questions designers are contractually barred from answering in hopes they accidentally slip up and spill something.

^ Agreed. We can only hope that Castle will be coming back next year, but it's honestly hard to tell when it will be coming back. Nexo being called a Castle theme by the designers is certainly encouraging, because that shows that they still care at least somewhat about continuing the theme. View that as a positive for all you Nexo-haters

One interesting question to ask them is why they've gotten to the point where almost no "classic" themes are being sold anymore. I'd like to hear an answer for that.

Edit: I find it very encouraging that a sizable amount of questions in the comment section of that video are asking when classic themes such as Space and Castle are coming back. Youtube tends to skew towards a younger audience, and no matter how many techno-mashups and licenses you throw out there, there will always be a group of people who want classic themes. In all likelihood Castle, Space and co. will outlive every single license currently on the shelves, including SW. They're just topics that will never die.

Thanks for the heads up on this opportunity @leafan:sweet:

I just want to tell you that the New Elementary blog is also offering a similar chance for their own readers!

New Elementary - FAN MEDIA DAYS ARE APPROACHING!

Also, Eurobricks members may have a similar opportunity to do so here too!
