@Jim and @Milan,

Hopefully not too off topic of technic,

After the 42083 Bugatti is revealed, will the Porsche background be replaced? Maybe you could have a vote on which set could maybe put there, get people in on it. Just had a thought and you may approve.

And maybe other members may chime their opinions?

Leave the background, it is good enough as is. Why should chiron be there anyway? Why not the terrain crane for example?

Look at my second line, I was suggesting a regular flagship.

Your primary suggestion is obviously chiron.

No. I said it as a reference because the Porsche is kinda outdated, and I think there are some better sets out now.

Do we really need to update it this often? The old one was based on some much older model and was good enough, that nobody was bothering until the last big forum upgrade.

New backgrounds (like the one on main page of EB forums) distracts quite a lot. So when you come to Technic part of forums and you see familiar background you feel like home :classic:.

Why should the picture be changed in the first place? New sets are released every year and being "better" is very subjective. Some people may consider studded sets to be better, some people may think their original creations are better than official sets etc.

Porsche was released in the summer of 2016. It's just 2 years. Outdated is also subjective.

P.S. are you the one who buys new iPhone each year?

While we're on the topic of the header background - I don't care whether it stays or is changed to another set (I say, why bother), but the wheel height measurement is a factor 10 off. It says 81.6, which should probably be 8.16, given the other measurements.

All this was a question, I didn't expect an answer, but got one from the community.

No, that's why I have a S5.

How on Earth is Porsche outdated then? *huh*

If there will be a change I suggest to put 8880 in the background.

Well, that was not only my opinion.

Well why not get Jim to run a annual design Competition for the background and bragging rights

Cool idea, however, it would be biased to established builders.

Hmm I didn't see it in that light more along the lines of the scale model forum as design a background that showcases technic

  • Jim changed the title to New Technic Background?

Okay, feel free to close the topic Jim.

PS I really like the blueprint in it. If we can find a blueprint of the Chiron or Mack, I can consider adding it to the banner.
