Darth_Ewok Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I hope that they go back to the older "standard" themes (adventurers, space, castle, town) it would be really cool if they continued the adventurers line! Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 No doubt about it! City/Town sets all the way!! ;) :-D Quote
The Middleman Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Historical Line Japan (fortress, pagoda, shrine, bridge, boat, etc.) Rome (coliseum, temple, palace, siege tower, catapults, etc.) Greek Mythology (hydra, medusa, Daedalus, minotaur, etc.) I'd also like to see a line of CLASSIC castles and castle buildings - not just war-related stuff. Of course, a generic military theme would be nice, but... ;) World Religions would be neat, with a mosque, Shinto temple, church, Jewish temple, etc. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 A historial line would be nice. But I wonder how TLC will make Medusa's head if they did decide to make her in minifigure form. :/ And I also wonder how they are going to make a three headed minifigure (for the Gorgons' heads; including Medusa's) Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 A historical line would be great! but they probably wouldn't do a military theme (to violent for lego) Classic castle would be alot better then the multi colored, power ranger knight peoples. :-D I would love to see somemore adventurers sets (the few I had were GREAT!) maybe they could make a sub-theme in which johnny thunder (I think thats his name) goes looking for the lost city of atlantis, and they could make a HUGE (like 8 inch long) shark (or some big monster. once star wars is gone, lego will start using their IMAGINATION and making non movie stuff! Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Imagination...that's the key to the quality in the LEGO sets. I hope they will never lose that. But it seems that they have lost alot of it since the past 6 or 7 years. The good thing is that they are regaining that. Slowly, but surely. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Slowly, but surely. Yeah, slowly :/ :| Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 10, 2005 Governor Posted June 10, 2005 I hope that they go back to the older "standard" themes (adventurers, space, castle, town) it would be really cool if they continued the adventurers line! Adventurers weren't one of the old standard themes! That was PIRATES! The main standard themes were: Town, Castle, Space and Pirates! Eventually Paradisa came along for a little while, then in 1996 they started going crazy with all these themes that didn't seem to go anywhere. Except for Adventurers, which seems to have evolved into Orient Expedition. So technically the Adventurers theme is being continued. Just have Town, Castle, Space and Pirates! and I'll be content! Quote
The Middleman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Well, there's currently no plan to expand upon Adventurers, actually. At least not this year. Maybe next year they'll visit Rome and Greece or something... ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 10, 2005 Governor Posted June 10, 2005 Now to clarify this whole matter... When someone refers to Adventurers, this obviously includes the Adventurers theme, but does it also include Orient Expedition? As the Orient Expedition includes the same protagonists doing the same things as Adventurers, to me it would seem logical that it was the logical progression rather than a completely new theme. The latest incarnation to put it another way. Because its highly unlikely that there would ever be Adventurers and Orient Expedition or any other Johnny Thunder themes coexisting simultaneously. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 Yeah, I guess. But orient expediton was stupid. Sorry, I forgot PIRATES! Pirates would be cool! :) Quote
The Middleman Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Orient Expedition was actually pretty good. Very reminiscent of Ninja and Adventurers. I hope they continue it. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 11, 2005 Governor Posted June 11, 2005 That doesn't really answer my queston. To be more concise the question is revised to: Is Orient Expedition officially just the renamed continuation of Adventurers? LEGO could well have called it the Orient sub-heme from Adventurers... snefroe Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 the lego rep. in Belgium clearly stated NO MORE EXOTIC THEMES FOR LEGO you can probably forget next year as well because they're already working on next year's sets... Quote
The Middleman Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 the lego rep. in Belgium clearly stated NO MORE EXOTIC THEMES FOR LEGOyou can probably forget next year as well because they're already working on next year's sets... Does Rome count as exotic? I hope not. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 12, 2005 Governor Posted June 12, 2005 The Caribbean is definitely very exotic. LEGO should revisit there with another SYSTEM theme immediately... Quote
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Historical LineRome (coliseum, temple, palace, siege tower, catapults, etc.) would love to see that.... i think lego would mk a handsome profit if they do pursue that line ;) Quote
Hobbes Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 The Caribbean is definitely very exotic. LEGO should revisit there with another SYSTEM theme immediately... A "Vacation Theme"? With a few small and one big island, hotels, beach cocktail bars? I could make friends with that... :D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 Hobbes, it seems Paradisa is the answer to your social life! Quote
Hobbes Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 That's too girlie... but paradise I can live with/in... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 But you might make a lot of nice girlie friends with Paradisa - hopefully (for you) of the gender of your preference... Quote
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 did the Paradisa series mk $$$ for TLC? i doubt it.... no offence to the ladies... there just weren't enough of you.....still aren't ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 I knew some males who thought Paradisa was pretty good back in the day... Quote
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 i won't dispute yr point.... i do own a set from the Paradisa series... it's a decent set .... but i do dare to say guys won't "worship" this theme.... as much as others like the castle and XXXXXX (the other theme that starts with the letter "p"- bet you know what i am talking abt) :/ Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 [...] XXXXXX (the other theme that starts with the letter "p"- bet you know what i am talking abt) You don't mean PIRATES, do you... Quote
