Cyclone Titan Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 (edited) I was on BZP a few minutes ago and I looked at the "cards" that show the Bionicle price, name, etc. And then I noticed, a new Toa or Makuta is $12.99!!!! So I was a bit ticked off there. Then I saw the "vehicles" and saw Vultraz(the Matoran) is $19.99?! So there I was in shock, and if that was bad, imagine my surprise at the Toa-looking riders! $49.99!!! No info on Takanuva, but, is Bionicle raising its prices for tthe sake of sales this year? Or will it stay like this forever?! EDIT: holy ####! Axalara is $79.99!!!!!! Edited February 18, 2008 by Cyclone Titan Quote

Or will it stay like this forever?! Okay...I've pointed this out like 50 times already but here it goes again... If you look at the pricing card for the other Bionicle canister sets, the ones out now, they ALSO say $12.99 As for the air vehicles, it seems LEGO is doing away with the Minifig-scale playsets this year (which never sell anyway) and are going with large Technic vehicles piloted by Matoran. These seem to have quite a few pieces and yes, will be more expensive then the smaller $20 Titan sets. But a big $80 vehicle with a rider seems better then a crappy $80 Minifig playset any day. Takanuva is $30 US...which means he's a big Titan like Vezon/Fennrak or Maxilos/Spinax. LEGO hasn't raised the prices per-se, just changed the price points the sets fill. And besides, they would be well within their rights to raise prices if they did. The price of a barrel of crude oil has skyrocketed in recent months, and when oil prices go up, the cost of raw plastic goes up...so we should consider ourselves lucky that prices have stayed as stable as they have Quote
Ecto Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Greg said they're 12.99 now. See ya, Bionicle! =D It was almost fun while it lasted. Quote
Dino_Bot Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 They're not worth the price. They deserve 7.99 price tags. This is too much. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Uh, guys? We Canadians had to live with this price for 3 years. And we have the superior dollar. So you shouldn't complain - it should be I complaining. But am I? No. -ZotS Quote
VBBN Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Well thank goodness I am not getting any of these. Darn gas prices. Soon we will have $20.00 toa. :-/ Your so predictable, TLC :-| . Quote
Trionx Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Guys, why, may I ask, are you blaming LEGO for the new prices? it the OIL which has had it's prices raised. I'm sure every toy company has had to raise their prices as well. :-) I won't get that many of them, but the prices aren't that much compared to all the other themes. Quote

They also have to remake old molds, and they choose to have horrible 5-piece collectables like cordack and ghost blasters. Quote

The other choice is that we get the same sets with no new parts, (and the launchers are chosen by focus groups, they let kids play with some prototype launchers and let them choose their favorites. ) Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I wont touch a single mistika if they are 13 dollars. Not worth it even for my favorite toa, onua. I bought mutran and vican for that much, and 40 pieces doesnt compare to 90. |-/ Quote

And Onua has 60 pieces, so don't feel like your being ripped off, kay? :-) -ZotS Quote
