syrhilla Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) Hi, I present you my version of the suttle of Kylo Ren. It's not an UCS (some details are differents) but it correspond to the idea that I have of this ship : a black shadow. I kept the sytem to open the cockpit at the front and the back, but I didn't worked inside yet. At the begining, wings could be vertical, but considering the weight of wings, I have to change and they are fixed (but it's only to display in my dedicated room) Complete album flickr of this MOC : https://www.flickr.com/photos/138759056@N05/albums/72157687270801021 IMG_20171019_175236 IMG_20171019_175013 IMG_20171019_175203 IMG_20171019_175101 IMG_20171019_174854 IMG_20171019_175026 IMG_20171019_175051 IMG_20171019_175328 IMG_20171019_175306 IMG_20171019_175738 IMG_20171019_175643 IMG_20171019_175546 IMG_20171019_175505 IMG_20171019_175343 IMG_20171019_175844 IMG_20171019_175922 Edited March 9, 2018 by syrhilla Quote
Ellisss_2 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Wow, awesome build here this looks super clean, great contrast between snot and studs! Ellis. Quote
vded Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Wonderful build well done my friend. Love the total black look. The wings seem to bend from the pics. Or is just me? Quote

Les ailes semblent se plier des photos. Ou est-ce juste moi? Thanks, No, Perhaps some plates are misplaced after moving for the pictures. At the begining wings bent, but after, I used a structure in technic bricks avoid it. Edited October 19, 2017 by syrhilla Quote
TheBrickLord Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) This is by far the best rendition of the shuttle that I've seen. It's absolutely beautiful. Edited October 19, 2017 by TheBrickLord Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Very nice ...this is a real black shadow! I like the trans-red front windows and the powerful reactors! Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 This is nothing short of stunning! Awesome work. Quote
Japanbuilder Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 That looks really sleek. I love the cabin section it almost looks like a living being. How many parts are holding the wings at that angle? Do you think they may warp after while? Regardless, it looks fantastic, you should try to post how you did it. I am sure some folks will like to homage this build. Quote

Thanks, Sorry for my description, my english is bad. For one wing, there is two liftarm and two liftarm bent, firmly attached on the wing (and a technic brick strucure inside the wing) and on the cockpit. I think that it is sustainable, because I can take the ship by the wing (but you can really play with it). The plates are the weak link, because they are attached by two tenons in general. I prioritize the structure, not the surface. Time will tell me. I'm not at home for 15 days, so I can't take other pictures (and I didn't work on LDD), and my english is too bad to describe precisely the technics. But when I will return, I try to take pictures of inside structures. Quote
firefox Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Looks really nice, great lego work, but designwise (not your fault of course) it still looks rediculous Quote
TheBeeze Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Nicely Done. There is another one here from some time ago that had the wings not only fold in, but also slide down into the main. If you're up for the challenge, search for it. Quote
HopsonMatt Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 What was your method for making the wings plated on both sides Quote
syrhilla Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 A little update of this MOC. I added Red LEds : (sorry for the quality but I can not better capture the light of the leds .....) And with no flash or other lights : Complete album flickr of this MOC : https://www.flickr.com/photos/138759056@N05/albums/72157687270801021 On 30/01/2018 at 1:30 AM, HopsonMatt said: What was your method for making the wings plated on both sides I use this technic : (to have a brick height, exactly, that separate the plates, which corresponds to technic bricks that consolidate wings ) Quote
