Starwars4J Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Ouch, that was harsh :-D I've seen some crazy stuff like that, often people who have a BL page know more or less what things are worth, and either have something at a really low price in hopes people will buy that there, and the more expensive things as well to save on shipping, or they just do it to make their store stand out.
natelite Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 BL defies convention too. often times, shops with fewer goods sell cheaper than shops with more of the same. that shop with 65 of the hats can charge more just because it has more of the same. this is because shipping is often the killer and people who buy from BL prefer to obtain in one bulk load from one shop rather than to shop for the cheapest from many.
Shadows Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 It's important to remember that people base their prices on a number of factors, including the occasionally mistaken belief that their part is uncommon, simply because they never see them for sale locally. Either way, it's a good lesson in buying. Know what you're getting, what parts it includes, and be aware of other ways to get the same parts cheaper. Shakos are a prime example. Everyone complains about the price of them, but I've picked up more than I currently need just by hitting cheap eBay auctions for random figure assortments that happen to include some. I should say that I used to do that and that I'm not the least bit impressed with the stuff I'm seeing on eBay anymore. Oh well.
