Deinonychus Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Vladek's Dark Fortress has got to be one of the best castle sets ever. How could I ever remove it from my shelf? But I needed room for that cool new Skeleton Tower...what's a Raptor to do? Fortunately, the central tower of Vladek's pad was easy to remove, and even more fortunately, the base of the Skeleton Tower fits right on top of the foundation! Of course, the bone cage smacks against the walls some, but it's too cool of a feature for me to remove. The exising colors even blend well together. It's almost as if the LEGO designers planned this. And you can't miss the similarities to a certain Castle Grayskull. Oh, and don't mind the ninja in the tower...he creeps around my LEGO room and I'm never exactly sure where he'll turn up. And here's a little closer look at the central tower in case you want a better idea of how to do this yourself ;-) Quote
Batbrick Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Wow! Thats amazing, you've combined the two seamlessly :'-) It fits in great, ingenious. Whats it look like from the back? Anyway, I actually like the bone cage smacking against the wall for some reason, makes it look more sinister to me *skull* Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Deinonychus Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Whats it look like from the back? Oddly enough, it looks even more seamless from behind. I'll see if I can pull it off the shelf and get a quick snap of the back at some point tomorrow *y* Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I would never have thought of mixing the two sets. It looks really good. Reminds me of the skull fortress in an old movie called the People That Time Forgot. Excellent! Quote
